In Council The standing committee on Millitary affairs to which was refered the petition of F B Field and other citizens of Farmington praying to be organized into a compnay of Artillery having had the same under consideration Report: that in the opinion of the committee the prayer of the petitioners aught to be granted. They therefore recommend that the Governor and Commander in Chief be advised to cause an order to be issued where by the petitioners may be organized into a company of Artillery under the provisioned of an Act entitled "An Act in addition to the sixteenth Chapter of the Revised Statutes approved August tenth eighteen hundred and forty eight; and that company to the Second Brigade Eighth Division. You are hereby ordered to warn and give ten days notice to all the privates enrolled in the artillery Company a list thereof being hereto annexed either verbally or by delivering to each man in person or by leaving at his last and usual place of abode a written or printed order directing him to appear at the Stoddard House in Farmington on Monday the 24th day of February 1851 at one o'clock in the afternoon to elect one Captain and two Lieutenants to said Company. Pursuant to order of July 12th 1851 the Company met at the Gun House on Saturday the nineteenth day of July 1851 and elected Francis B Field Captain and Benj F Ames third Lieutenant
At Said election F A Stewart was chosen Sergeant Also at said Election B F Ames and B F Page joined said Company. Also at said Election the company was warned to meet at the Gun House on the Nineth day of August 1851 one o'clock PM armed and equiped as the law directs for millitary duty and there wait further orders. Pursuant to previous order. Company met at the Gun House and performed Millitary duty according to law. At said training Eben Perham, N A Butler, Augustus M Chandler, Wm B Welch, Albert Ames, N B S Davis, Joseph Keith Jr, John D Perry and Francis Luce joined said Company. At said training the company was warned to meet at the Gun House the twentieth day of August at one o'clock PM for Millitary duty. A G Wheeler } Clerk August 20 1851 Pursuant to order of August 9th 1851. Company met at the Gun House at one o'clock PM for millitary duty. At said training Charles H Butterfield, Theodore L Mayhew, George W Bailey, Samuel Mosher and Lloyd White joined said Company. At said training the Company was warned to meet at the Gun House on the thirtieth day of August at one o'clock PM for millitary duty.
A G Wheeler } Clerk of said Company August 30th 1851 Pursuant to order of August 20 the company met at the Gun House at the time specified and did millitary duty according to law. At said training Wm F Cilly joined said company. At said training the company was warned to meet at the Gun House on on the eighth day of Sept at one o'clock PM to do escort duty. Also at said training the company was warned to meet at the Gun House on the nineth day of Sept at six o'clock PM for millitary inspection and review.
