The Interlake Manitoba Gen
Web Project is a small piece of the Manitoba GenWeb Project, which is part
of the Canada GenWeb Project. The Canada Gen Web Project consists
of a group of volunteers working together to provide Internet websites
for genealogical research in every county/district/region and every province
of Canada. The Project is non-commercial and fully committed to free access
for everyone.
The purpose is to create a global library for genealogy research
on the Web. Canada researchers are very fortunate in that there is already
an enormous amount of Canadian information available on the Internet. The
role of the Canada Gen Web Project is to assist researchers in locating
this information, as well as to add to the existing online data.
The Interlake consists of the land between two lakes. Both lakes
are larger than some seas in Europe, not to mention most European countries.
From Winnipeg North along the east side encompassing Selkirk then along
the west shore of Lake Winnipeg up to the 52nd parallel and across to Lake
Manitoba. The boundary then continues South down along the east shore
of Lake Manitoba including Stonewall and Warren ending at Winnipeg. |
