Will of Nathan Snow (1759-1835) of Becket

In the name of God Amen -----I Nathan Snow of Becket in the County of Berkshire and Commonwealth of Massachusetts
being of a sound and disposing mind and Memory, Blessed be God for the same; do make and publish this
my last Will and Testament, in the manner and form Following - - - - - - -  - - -

 

1st - I will that my body be buried by my Executor in a decent and Christian like way and manner.

 

2 - I will that my debts and funeral charges be paid and discharged  And then the Estate I may leave I give and bequeath in the following manner Viz)  To my new present wife Patty Snow I give and bequeath the use of one third of the two lots of Land Constituting the farm on which I now live and on which my buildings now stand.  The use of one third of the same and two cows, Two Feather beds and beading for the same and cooking utensils sufficient for house keeping for herself. - - - - -To my Daughter Thankful Snow the Wife of Ralph Snow I give and bequeath to her and her heirs all of the Real Estate which I own in the state of Pennsylvania County of Crawford, and furthermore Certain Obligations which I hold against Ralph Snow in  notes are to be given up to the said Ralph by his the Sd. Ralph giving up a certain Receipt which I gave to Jonathan Wadsworth the amount of which when given was two hundred dollars which I suppose he now holds. - - - - - - - - To my Daughter Letica the wife of Austin Davis I give and bequeath to her and her heirs the Sd. Letica all of my real Estate lying and being in the town of Becket County of Berkshire State of Mass not to be divided among the heirs until the youngest heir becomes of age (Provision) the Sd. Letica to have her Maintenance out of the means of the farm so long as the Sd Letica remains the Wife of Austin Davis or the Widow of the same.  Also the stock and the farming Utensils remaining on the Farm to be kept  for the benefit of the farm and heirs of the Sd. Letica or the ???? arising therefrom.  Also the household furniture to be disposed of as Whereas and furthermore I do say that my money ??? or on hand (not disposed of above) to be Equally divided amongst the heirs of the Sd. Letica as they become of age forever ------------------Lastly I do make, Constitute and appoint Lawton Wadsworth sole Executor of this my last will and testament. - - - - - - - -

In the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and twenty nine.

Signed Sealed and Published and delivered by Nathan Snow as his last will and Testament in our presence as witnesses who in his presence sign our names as witnesses
