BURT MEMORIAL PARK
TOWN OF LEE, MA
A
small park stands along side of the Lee Library on Main Street.
It's monuments honor the "Gold Star Soldiers" of the
town that lost their lives protecting their country in the years
from World War I to the present time and Capt. James Burt,
a Lee resident, who was presented the Congressional Medal of
Honor by President Harry S. Truman for his actions in World
War II. Capt. Burt is the only soldier from Berkshire County
to ever have this honor bestowed to him.
