Webster County Historical & Genealogical Society
Tree Tree The Webster County Historical & Genealogical Society was incorporated in 1980 with the intent of encouraging people to become involved in the preservation of their heritage, and to better understand history as it relates to family history, Kentucky history, and American history.

"We believe that a knowledge of the history of Webster County helps us appreciate our heritage, and encourages us to carry out ideals of our day with the courage shown by those great pioneers and citizens who lived here before us."

Anyone interested in the genealogy and history of Webster County is invited to join the society. Annual dues are $15 for an individual or $20 for a family. The society's quarterly publication is Webster's Wagon Wheel. Member queries are encouraged and should be mailed to: WCH&GS, P.O. Box 215; Dixon KY 42409-0215.

The WCH&GS has a growing collection of genealogical and historical materials at their research room, which is located in the Community Room at the Webster County Library in Dixon. The room is open M-F 9:30-4 p.m. excepting the lunch hour from 12-1:00. Members of the society volunteer their time in the research room to assist visitors when they can. Additionally librarian Susan Smith is often available to give guidance to visitors.
