BANKS, CHRISTIAN, PRUITT
August 20, 1999 Paula Dunklin
I'm seeking information on my great grandmother, Mary Margaret BANKS, born 1842 in an unknown county of Kentucky. She is thought to be daughter of Henry BANKS of Letcher County Ky. Some data I've received states he was married twice....first to a Catherine PRUITT and second, to Nancy CHRISTIAN. He is said to have been born in 1785 in NC and to have had 13 children between the two wives. They were: Cassandra; John D.; William; Susannah; Anna; Nancy; Joel; Henry Calvin; David; Andrew Jackson; Allen C.; James; and Mary, born 1842. Is this Mary my great grandmother? My Mary Margaret married at age 13 to Reuben MANNING of FL & TX. They were in AL in 1862-1865, then moved on to settle in Limestone/Freestone County, in central Texas. There they raised their family and died. Both are buried in Cotton Gin Cemetery in Freestone county, Tx. I must identify her parents to continue researching my family tree. Please contact me at: Paula Dunklin, 20114 Nightbird Trail, Crosby, Texas 77532, or email me at [email protected]
