Looking for my father's mother, Daisy Lee FARMER, md James Henry PACK, probably around 1905. They may have been married in Tennessee where it is reported that he was from. Daisy Lee died Oct of 1928 or 1929. She supposedly had family in Harlan County and I believe she died at one of their homes. My father was about 3 years old when she died and his father had passed away from typhoid when he was approximately 4 months old. He was the youngest of 8 children and his paternal aunt raised him in Tennessee. My father's sister-in-law, married to his oldest brother, gave me the information that Daisy Lee died in Kentucky but was buried in Monteagle, TN. Is there someplace that I can write to in Harlan County to confirm her death? I believe the FARMER family may have lived in Harlan County for some time. I know some of the PACK boys lived there and we may have even had another brother who died in a coal mining accident there. He was Jeff or Jeffrey Pack - born in 1914, died in 1939. My father is still alive and I would like to be able to provide him with a little of his family history. As his parents died when he was so young, he really has no knowledge of them at all. Looking for my g-g-grandfather, Henry SANDERS. We don't know much about him, but here is what we do know: md Abigail DYKES in Grundy, Co. TN in 1881. Sometime shortly thereafter, they moved to Ky, we think to Harlan Co. They had a son named Calvin.(I have contacted a direct descendant of his, inits=CG). Among their other children was Louis, which was my g-g grandfather. Around 1896-1900, Henry died and Abigail moved back to Grundy, Co., TN with her kids where she is listed as head of household in the 1900 census. Her youngest child was born in 1896. We think Henry died somewhere between 1895 and 1900. Abigail died in August of 1900, and six weeks later her daughter Emaline (age 9) died of Meningiutius. The kids were raised by Abigail's parents, Calvin and Ellen Dykes. Incidentally, another son of theirs, Kevin "Keener" Sanders, used to visit my grandparents (in Grundy, Co. TN) frequently. He spoke about working in the Black Mtn coal mines near Evarts, Ky. Information queries on any of these people would be appreciated. To date, no one knows anything about Henry Sanders. Maybe if someone has information about Keener, it would help.

Would like to know if anyone knows of a Cemetery in Page, KY. It has many Jackson family members buried there. It may be called Jackson cemetery. There is a Nancy Jane JACKSON buried there next to her uncle Henry JACKSON. She was a small and blind woman. She was living at the Poor House, when her uncle found out he got her to leave and he took care of her until she died in about 1944 in Bell County. I am also looking for information on the WILSON's of Brownie's Creek. 
Also, has anyone every heard of a murder that took place in Harlan County around 1907 or a few years later? The story I've been told is that Lizzie SPEAKS thought Viney DANIELS was flirting with her husband (Joe Cephas STEWARD) so Lizzie attacked and killed Viney with a kitchen knife as Viney was milking a cow early one morning. Lizzie was never sentenced for this crime the judge said "Viney had it coming" because she flirted with a married man. Viney and Lizzie were first cousins. Viney DANIELS was the daughter of Bascum DANIEL and Lizzie's was the daughter of Bascum's sister. I would like to know more about this story. If you have even just heard of this story I'd like to hear from you.

Arch and Mary BRANDENBURG who are my paternal great-great-grandparents, who are my grandmother, Della Mae (CLAXTON)'s grandparents. My grandmother's father's name was David JORDAN. My grandfather, Everett CLAXTON's parents, (?Jordan) CROSS and Alice CLAXTON. Alice I know later moved to Virginia or Tennesse and married having other children. My grandfather had 1 sister and 2 brothers, whose names I do not know.

Elizabeth was his second wife and they had the following children: Hannah b 1800, Anthony b 1802, Elizabeth, Allen b 1809, Dorothy b 1812, Sarah b 1814, Esther b 1815, Mary b 1817, Martha b 1819. After James' death in 1837 Elizabeth moves to Benton Co., AR. Does anyone know parents of James or Elizabeth? Would like to work with others on this line and find the marriages of each child.

William M. (Billy) GREEN, b. 1794 in Harlan or Mercer Co, Ky; d. Dec 1870 in Beaudry, Saline Co(Now Garland), AR. Married Ruth LOYD about 1817 in KY. Ruth was b 1800 in KY, d. after 1880 in Garland Co, AR. They moved from KY to Decatur, Meigs, TN before 1824. They had 7 known children : John L., Harvey, Martin H., Sarah Jane, Thomas B., Robert B., and William Hogan. John L moved to Beaudry, Saline, AR 1845-1847. William and most of family moved to join John L. in 1851. Looking for any information, especially parents and siblings for William and Ruth. Anyone have any information they will share?

Seeking info on the parents {siblings?} of William T. LEWIS b. c1801 VA; m. c1824 Jane\Jean BALL, dau. of Bennet and Nancy BAILEY BALL. In the late 1830s they moved to Madison Co. AR and at some point all their children followed. The children were: Bennett b. 1825; Abner b. 1826; John b. 1829; Nancy Ellen b. 1832; Sarah b. 1834; and Hiram b. 1837, all born in KY. After moving to AR they had: Wilson b. 1838; William b. 1840; Martha b. 1842; Salina b. 1844; James b. 1846 and Guss Dave b. 1850. Can anyone tell me William T.'s relationship with the other Harlan Co. LEWIS families? Since most of the names are repeated I'm sure there must be some connection??? Looking for information on my GG grandfather Jesse GOFORTH. He moved from TN along with this wife Mary Jane VAN BEBBER. I was told by my Grandmother that he was shot and bled to death in the woods in Bell Co at Dorton Branch, about 1901. Jesse and Mary Jane had the following children. Would like information on the MIDDLETON/PACE/BLEVINS/WYNN and MADDEN Families of Kentucky. 2nd great grandparents were Acles and Darkis PACE MADDEN,there son Dock Married Susie MIDDLETON in 1905 in Harlan KY. Dock died in 1927 above Brittian's Creek in Harlan, and his son Lawrence died in 1929. Also searching for information on Maudie PAGE MADDEN who died in July 1927. 
Also researching Jacob MADDEN who served in the 4th Regiment of the Kentucky Volunteer Infantry, that was mustered into service Oct. 9, 1861. Jacob died June 26, 1865 in Macon, GA. Would like to make contact with anyone that might have information about the Regiment and or Jacob Madden.

Looking for information on the James G. CARROLL family listed in the 1920 Harlan Co., KY census. There were 8 family members listed plus 5 boarders, one cook and one servant. James G. CARROLL was 55 at the time of the census and was a manager of a sawmill. His wife, Mary E. (ROBBINS), was 51 and the keeper of a boarding house. Their children living with them at the time were: James M., age 24, laborer,sawmill; Roscoe H., age 19, laborer,sawmill; Emett T., age 13, none; Finley F., age 17, wagondriver,construction, married. James and Mary's daughter-in-law Josephine (Josie HOWARD) and granddaughter Wilma were also living there. The residence was listed as being on Clover Street. I would like any info on this family as all but Wilma are now deceased. Finley F. (also known as Frank or Frank Fin) and Josie had 12 children; Wilma is the oldest and my father is the youngest. My father does not remember any of his uncles or grandparents listed on this census. I would like to surprise him with a family history. Please help!

Patsy (Martha) Morris Creech later married Pleasant WILLIAMS ca. 1855 and moved to Breathitt Co., Ky. Several children from this last union, one named Doc Williams who resided in or near Jackson, Ky.
