Ronnie “Fats” Curtis, 54, Brookside, died March
13, 2004, at his
home. Ronnie was a disabled coal miner and a member of the Ages
Church of God Mountain Assembly.He was preceded in death by his father,
James Frellin Curtis.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Holder, Brookside; his mother,
Flary Curtis, Brookside; two children: Ronnie Curtis Jr., Oglethorpe,
Ga.; and Patrick Joseph, Corbin; three brothers: Don Curtis and wife, Anna,
Pathfork; Troy Curtis and wife, Sheena, Ages; and Roy Curtis, Ages; five
grandchildren: Rhonda Curtis, Ronnie Curtis III, Kelsey Curtis, Robbie
Curtis and Michael Gibson, all of Harlan; a host of nieces and nephews
and other family and friends. Visitation is today and Tuesday from 5 to
9 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Funeral Home in Harlan. Funeral services will
be conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Ages Church of God Mountain Assembly
with the Rev. Kelles Greer and the Rev. Donnie Harrison officiating.
Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery. Friends and family will serve as
pallbearers. Claude and Shleb Wilson, Wayne Collett, Frank Allen, Bill
Redwine, Curt Stallard, Denny Pace, Larry Ellis and Junior Deaton
will serve as honorary pallbearers. Mount Pleasant Funeral Home is in charge
of arrangements.

Notes. Ronnie worked for the Eastover Mine
at Brookside, he worked as Section Boss, General Mine Foreman and later
as an Assistant Superintendent.
