Archie Nolan

December 24, 1936 ~ July 28, 2005

Archie Nolan, son of  Mr.and Mrs. Adrian and Ruby Nolan born on December 24, 1936 in Brookside, Ky, Harlan, County Kentucky. Archie passed away on July 28, 2005 in Merced, California at the age of 69 years.

I remember, when we made the long trip to California with Archie, Connie, and kids to make California his home. It was a fun trip and he stopped at every rest stop to make coffee and sometimes cook a meal. My brother was an out door person and loved to fish.
All his free time was spent camping out in the woods. He was always joking and loved to laugh. I watched a video I have of him and my late brother Jack, with my sister Liz, when he came to visit me in Chicago back in the nineties. His smile and sense of humor, I will always remember. he never got over losing his son to a freak accident, and not long after the death of his son, he lost one of his daughters Vicky, to a suspicious death in Chicago
He lived his life the way he wanted and no one was able to change his love of life.
One of his favorite brother inlaws was my husband Jack. My husband was a city boy and Archie loved to kid around with him. Once when Jack and I visited my mom in Ky, he thought a pone of corn bread was cake. Jack was scared to death of the out house and Archie never let him forget that. They always enjoyed a few beers together and were more like brothers than brother-inlaws.
At sixteen, he attended Berea High school with his cousin Okie Boggs. He was in the Air Force and  Marines and he worked in the mines at Brookside, Ky
One of his favorite hobbies was the CB radio and he made many friends over the airwaves. I will never forget his patience, and understanding when, I ask him for advice on
lifes many turns.
The last time I saw him was in May 2002, he came to Jacks funeral in Las Vegas.I still hold in my heart the passion that he had for life. He was a favorite brother.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years Connie England of Winton;  two sons, Timothy Nolan and Michael Nolan, both of Merced; two daughters, Sherri Nolan Robinson of Atwater and Crystal Nolan Bentley of Merced; five brothers, Jackie Nolan (Deceased) Bobby, Totz, Ky; Wilburn Wayne; Merced; Adrian Junior; Las Vegas, Bill Nolan, ILL; two sisters, Elva Nolan Morgan, Lakeland, FL and Elizabeth Ligoki Nolan, Las Vegas,.  First marriage to Elva Collett and three children, Archie Nolan (Ricky deceased) and  fraternal twins; Vivian Nolan Fox of Kentucky, and Vicky Lynn Nolan (deceased).
