The society is still interested in locating information on all cemeteries in Fayette Co. to compile listings for publication in its quarterly journal. Of particular interest is collecting information on individuals whose burial locations were changed. Where were they originally interred and where located later? If you would like to contribute information to this project, please contact
Debbie Steuart. A current comprehensive alphabetic list of Fayette County cemetery names is available through Index of Fayette County Cemeteries. The list can also be viewed by cemetery type.


About the Society

Membership is open to anyone interested in the history of old Fayette County, Kentucky, as well as the 

present county. Dues are $12.00 single, $17.00 family and $200.00 life. Membership includes a subscription 

to The Fayette County (KY) Genealogical Society Quarterly.To join, send your dues to the Fayette County (KY) Genealogical Society, P.O. Box 8113, Lexington, Kentucky 40533-8113.



Society Meetings
The Fayette County (KY) Genealogical society meets the first Monday of the month, usually at Hunter 

Presbyterian Church located at the corner of Nicholasville Road and Rosemont Garden in Lexington. 

Meetings begin at 7:30. If the meeting date falls on a holiday, it will be held the next night. Information on meetings scheduled for locations other than Hunter Presbyterian Church will be listed in the local newspaper.

April  2nd-  Show and Tell. Bring something to share that you enjoy, book, newsletter, genealogy reference or research tool that has been a help to you.
