The license register used for the earlier article on tavern owners also
listed citizens who purchased licenses for different types of animals.
An interesting item about these lists is that the clerk frequently
listed the animals name in the remarks section. The following is a list
of people who registered bulls at the Alexandria Courthouse between
1878 and 1880 and the Bull’s name when shown. N/N indicates no name was
shown for the bull. The reader should be aware of possible errors both
in the writing of the original document and in reading the clerk’s
