Cherokee County is located in the southeast corner of Kansas, and shares borders with Oklahoma and Missouri. It's county seat is Columbus, and the largest city is Baxter Springs. It is bordered by Crawford County (KS) to the north; Jasper and Newton Counties (MO) to the east and southeast; Ottawa and Craig Counties (OK) to the south and southwest; and Labette County to the west.
