  28. FreeBMD-Admins. A mailing list for discussing, implementing, developing and organising the FreeBMD project. FreeBMD stands for Free Births, Marriages, and Deaths. The objective of the FreeBMD Project is to provide free Internet access to the Civil Registration index information for England and Wales that is greater than 100 years old. More recent data will be accepted but will be stored until we are able to publish it, either because it is 100 years old or because the Office for National Statistics (ONS) gives us wider permissions. FreeBMD is a very new project with significantly less then one percent of the records in the database, so you should not expect to find your relatives in the database at this time.   29. FreeBMD-News. A read-only mailing list for people who are interested in how the FreeBMD project is progressing. FreeBMD stands for Free Births, Marriages, and Deaths. The objective of the project is to provide free Internet access to the Civil Registration index information for England and Wales that is greater than 100 years old. Postings will announce major decisions, track progress, and promulgate calls for volunteers. Traffic is expected to be light (e.g., a message every few days). The FreeREG Project's objective is to provide free Internet searches of baptism, marriage, and burial records, which have been transcribed into a database from English parish registers. A mailing list where one can share ancestral recipes, poems, rhymes, ditties, slang words, sayings, etc. This list will address England only so that other English mailing lists are not cluttered by such postings. Topics include any feature or staff member of these lines as well as those involved in the construction such as the Irish navigational engineers (Navvies) who worked on it.
