The Harrison families that lived in Daviess County Kentucky first came from Shelby and Nelson Counties Kentucky. Before that from Virginia and Maryland. James Harrison family came from Daviess county. They are in the 1850 Daviess Census. Family records say that they emigrated to Massac county in 1859,
where they do appear in the 1860 Census. There were two of the sisters married in Massac county, and Benjamin stayed in the county, but the rest of the family was gone by the 1880 Census. Benjamin and Mary married on July 29, 1877 in Massac county. They lived on the farm next to Mary's mother
Sarah P Grace who was a widow at the time. Mary is shown by the 1880 census to have had no children. Family record states that she had two by then that died.

Benjamin F Harrison-----Mary J Grace

born 9/5/1852 in Hancock County, Kentucky    died 12/11/1895 in Massac County, Illinois from Pneumonia at the age of 43

He appeared in the 1860 census as BF Harrison, page 837. In the 1880 census he appeared as Frank, Page 33.

Mary J Grace born 12/2/1857- died 4/3/1929 at the age of 72 after she broke her hip. She lived with her son Harvey and his daughter Hazel in Metropolis.

Marriage- in Metropolis, Massac county 7/29/1877

Married by Daniel R. Pryor who was an Elder and founder of the newspaper
"Massac Journal-Republican," in 1890.

They lived by Joppa rd and RT 45, in the 1880 census it was the Metropolis Precinct latter the Grant Precinct by the 1900 census.

The 1910 census has only the sons William L, Harvey T, Hugh, Alexander, and Benjamin Franklin living with Mary J Harrison. James went to live with his Grandmother Sarah P Grace. They lived next to the Roberson A Grace family.

They are buried Liberty Ridge cemetery.

5.Benjamin Edward Harrison b 12/29/1884 was a teacher/ farmer married Ida May in 1908. Aunt May and Russell lived in Metropolis before their deaths.
