On October 11, 2012, Lola DeGroff
presented a program on Creating a Digital Scrapbook.
Lola said that when she started out in digital scrapbooking, she
tried several scrapbooking programs. She found that many of the
programs created results that could only be used by the creating
program. That meant that to share the scrapbook with someone else,
they would have to use the same program. She finally found Scrapbook
Flair, which allows the user to export the scrapbook files in
a JPEG format. A JPEG file is an image file and can be opened
by many different programs, even on different operating systems.
Scrapbook Flair is a very inexpensive Windows system program.
It is a free download or, if you want a CD copy it will cost $5
for shipping.
The program has many graphics on the CD and there are even more
available on the Scrapbook Flair website <http://www.ScrapbookFlair.com>
Lola brought the Scrapbook Flair program on a CD and several of
the attendees brought their laptops and loaded the program. She
also brought a CD of additional backgrounds, fonts, and embellishments.
Lola had a handout that leads you through the steps of creating
a scrapbook page and exporting it as a JPEG. It then leads the
user through the steps of uploading the pages and having the scrapbook
printed.
If you would like a copy of this
handout, it can be downloaded or printed here.
This was an interesting presentation and generated questions and
comments from the audience.
