Many members of the William Smith family
and their descendants attended the Louisa Center school which is now
long gone. However the Louisa Center Church was recently moved to
Wapello near the Heritage Museum for preservation. Does anyone
have a photo of the original church with the "80 ft. steeple" that we
have heard so much about it's blowing down in a big windstorm in the
1930's? This church sat at the end of the dead end road where we
lived in 1955-1957. We passed it every time we left or came home.
