Ypsilanti

Ypsilanti, approximately 9 miles Northeast of Talbotton, is one of the oldest communities in the county, laid out in 1825. It boasted of an early post office and in 1976, a still substantial number of residents. It was named for the Greek War of Independence patriot, Demetrios Ypsilanti (1798-1832) Its other name is Red Bone.
