Her headstone reads 'wife of Robert Grogan' and her age matches the Bartow census. If anyone has info on Robert and Elizabeth Grogan or Louis LayFette and Sarah Grogan, please allow us to share information. Thank You Brad Jones

BRADFORD
Karen Lynch

I am searching for info on John B. BRADFORD. I believe that he may be my great grandfather. In the 1920 Polk Co. census he was married to Rebecca and had 1 daughter, Frances, 16 years old. He and Carrie separated shortly after the 1900 census was taken. No one in the family knows what happened to him after this, except for the rumor that he lived in Cedartown for a time. Any help would be greatly appreciated. [email protected]

HILL, STAPLES
Carla or Stacey Bedgood Thu Jan 9 14:08:16 1997
My name is Stacey Bedgood, and my mother and I are researching the genealogy of my father's family. In the family photos we have, there is a picture (circa 1920) of my grandmother's Aunt and first cousin, and I am trying to find more information on them and their descendants, if any. My grandmother's Aunt's name was Tommie Lavicil STAPLES, born 1872 in Chambers Co., Alabama, which is on the Georgia border. She married a William Henry Harrison HILL (probably went by Henry Hill) in 1892. They had several children that died young, but had a son that survived named Howard Warren HILL, born 6 Feb 1902 (he is in the photo with his Mother). Tommie STAPLES HILL died in Rockmart, Polk Co., GA on 17 Jun 1922 and I suppose she is buried somewhere near there. We do not know what became of Howard HILL or his father. Any information on this family would be appreciated. Please contact my mother, Carla Bedgood at: [email protected]

FREEMAN, HOPPER, WALLIS , BUSH
Raymond W. Freeman Sun, 12 Jan 1997 20:10
I am searching for the ancestors of Robert Franklin FREEMAN, b. August 21, 1877 in Polk County Georgia, d. January 8, 1952 in Lincoln, Talladega County, Alabama. He was married July 24, 1899 to Sara Ella (Louella) HOPPER, b. August 12, 1880 in Georgia, d. May 17, 1953 in Anniston, AL. They are both buried in Patton's Chapel Cemetery, near Lincoln, in Talladega County, Alabama.

Robert Franklin Freeman was a farmer. He raised cotton and corn. The last years of his life were spent on a small farm on the Lock 4 Road about 3.5 miles northwest of Lincoln, Talladega County, Alabama.

The family bible shows that "R. F. Freeman and Ella Hopper were united in the bonds of Holy Matrimony at Broomer, Ala on the 24th day of July in the year of our Lord 1899, by John Creswell, in the presence of John Freeman and Ben Dulaney".

A copy of their marriage license shows that they were married on the 23rd day of July 1899 by J. A. Creswell, J.P.

I believe the John Freeman mentioned above is Robert's Father, John D. FREEMAN, b. c1847 in Fish Creek, Georgia. John was married c1870 to Hariett ELROD, b. c1849 in Georgia, d. April 19, 1915 in Calhoun County, Alabama. Both John and Hariett are believed to be buried in Vinson Cemetery, in Calhoun County, Alabama.

Any and all information on possible FREEMAN ancestors will be greatly appreciated.

PLEASE NOTE that I have lots of information to share on my Maternal ancestors, the WALLIS and BUSH families, parents of my Mother, Buris Weston WALLIS, daughter of Ferdinand Ewell WALLIS, and Mary Minnie BUSH.

Best Regards,

Raymond W. Freeman

I am looking for any information on Mary Elizabeth BEDFORD CHAPPELL I believe she was born in Cedertown, Ga (positive of somewhere in Georgia) and she was born on Sep. 21, 1876. GRUPE, MONROE, FINCHER, BOWMAN, JOHNSON, PHILLIPS, MORRIS
Rick Monroe Sat Jun 14 08:57:43 1997
Seeking information on Edith Monroe GRUPE. Mrs. Grupe was/is a resident of Cedartown who has conducted extensive research on the descendants of Duncan MONROE 1806-1896). I have tried numerous times to contact Mrs. Grupe, but with no success. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who can put me in touch with Mrs. Grupe or who has access to her research. Duncan was a son of Malcolm MUNROE (1774-1853). Malcolm lived and Duncan was born in Moore Co., NC, and moved to Talladega Co., AL, in 1842. Part of the family remained in NC, most settled in AL, but Duncan later moved to northwest GA -- apparently Haralson Co. Duncan's first wife was Sarah PHILLIPS. Their children were Benjamin MONROE, Sarah E MONROE (sp. William Jasper FINCHER), Phobe Ann MONROE (sp. ?? BOWMAN), Margaret C. Monroe (sp. N. Stokes BARRY), Mary MONROE (sp. William JOHNSON), Cornelius M. MONROE, W.K. MONROE, Martha MONROE, John M. MONROE. Duncan remarried twice more, but had no children with his second wife, Elizabeth PHILLIPS. Children with his third wife, Matilda MORRIS were Francis Calvin MONROE and James A. MONROE.

I am looking for any information on a man named HOUSTON LAUGHLIN McCLURE who lived in Aragon and worked at the Aragon Mills in 1942. He was born in Huntsville, AL in 1925. I am interested in this man because he shares the unusual name of Houston McClure. This is the same name of an elusive ancestor that I am chasing who lived in the TN/AL area in 1810-1837. I would like to find someone who knows anything about this later version of Houston McClure in case we have common family ties that we can explore.
