* John Litton b. probably 1811-12 Fulham (West London), Englsnd
Age 25 in 1841 census, 39 in 1851, 59 in 1871, 70 in 1881. In census
and baptism records of children, generally described as a "sweep", or
"chimney sweep". John and wife Sarah living at Little Albany St when
they married. 1841-81 John was living at 4 Little Grosvenor St. Father
may be John Litton, dead when he married Sarah. Family folklore says
he is descendant of Sir Robert de Lytton

Phoebe says "Some time in 1890 the whole family and servants were
very ill. My father did not know what the epidemic was, but his
mother [Adela Charlotte] and sister [Adela M] both died...."
