Mr Clark b. Ireland, d. 1828 Morgan Co OH. Her 2nd husband could have
been Joseph L Clark, the only Clark listed on the tax rolls for 1825 in
sparsely populated Morgan Co OH. They had one son, Joseph, who with wife
Mary Ellen Evans and son John, were living in Marion Co IA when the 1850
census was taken. Sarah was listed on the Morgan Co OH personal property
tax list in 1830. She was living with her son John Samuel Foster in
Marion Co IA when the 1850 and 1860 Iowa census was taken.

Died of complications suffered in battle in the Civil War. It is
not known how long he was Andersonville Prison, probably only for
a short time since he promoted to fourth Sargent 1 Sep 1862, and
served in Company E, Eight Regiment of the Iowa Infantry. His
military record indicates he was missing in action during the
battle at Shiloh 2 Apr 1862. He was never married.

A note from Walt - Foster was the first surname I researched when I started
25 years ago. I have about the same basic info now that I had then. Oh, I've
made additions, but no clues on the first one on the file inculding his wife.
Any break thru here would be of major proportions to me. However, I have
hired local genealogists in the Ohio Counties to no avail.
