WILLIAM HENRY EZELL was the son of J.B. Ezell of Co E and Eliza Wells, daughter of Littleton Well of Florida.
William Henry Ezell was a very tall man,and thin in size with
very large hands and a mustache on his upper lip looking lighter
in color than his hair which looked black by a picture taken.

"John Thomas Wells was born 29 Sept. 1836 in Fairfield Co., SC.He was wounded, and placed in General Hospital in Lauderdale Springs, MS from June 1862-April 1863 where he rejoined his regiment afterwards. He was captured at Vicksburg 4 July 1863 and paroled after signing the oath not to take up arms against the US but again shortly afterward he rejoined his regiment. He was in the Battle of Lookout Mountain, TN; Battle at Missionary Ridge, TN; Battle of Resaca; Battle of New Hope; Battle at Buzzards Roost; and the Battle of Atlanta. He was in Ross Hospital, Mobile, AL from Oct. 1864-Nov 1864 with fever, then returned for the Battle at Spanish Fort and the Battle of Bentonville, NC. He surrendered and was discharged at Durham Station, NC 26 April 1865. . John Thomas died 11 Feb 1906 in Fayetteville, AR where he is buried in the Confederate Cemetery ."

John Boley Lewis, Jr.
John Boley Lewis, Jr. enlisted in May of 1862
at Columbus, Mississippi in the 42nd Alabama Regiment, Co K "Bull Mountain
Invincibles"
.
He was shot in the elbow of the right arm at the Battle of Corinth, Mississippi
on October 3, 1862. He also had his left hip dislocated while handling a siege gun while he was
at Snyder's Bluff, Mississippi during the Siege of Vicksburg.
He was honorably discharged on
July 10, 1864 and is the gggrandfather of Jason Lewis.

Most of the others are  members of the 42nd Alabama; one of them is almost certainly my great-grandfather, Robert M. Beggs of Co. D. The original photo is in the Alabama Archives..."
