0. F. Drefold, cashier of the Farmers State Bank of Worland and a well known business man, actuated by a spirit of enterprise in all that he undertakes, was born in Omaha, Nebraska, December 3, 1884, a son of Henry and Augusta Drefold. In the schools of his native city he pursued his education, passing through consecutive grades to his graduation from the Omaha high school with the class of 1902. The same year he entered the First National Bank of Omaha, thus making his initial step in the business world as a bank messenger. He was identified with the institution for ten years and advanced steadily through one promotion after another to the position of paying teller. He then resigned to become connected with the Corn Exchange Bank of Omaha, at which period the institution became a national bank. He remained there for two years and afterward accepted a position with the Nebraska Bankers Association, being placed in charge of the clearings of the Omaha National Bank. He remained in that position of responsibility for three years and in October, 1917. came to Worland to take charge of the newly established Farmers State Bank. His broad previous experience well qualified him for the duties that devolve upon him in this connection and no one doubts the result of his labors.
On the 29th of May, 1915, Mr. Drefold was united in marriage to Miss Agnes Margaret Hansen, of Omaha, Nebraska, and they have already won many friends during the period of their residence in this section of the state. Mr. Drefold gives his political allegiance to the republican party but has never sought nor desired office. He is a genial, courteous gentleman who makes friends readily and this will undoubtedly prove one of the strong points in the bank's favor. Moreover, he thoroughly understands every phase of the banking business in principle and detail, his experience being particularly broad and varied, so that he is splendidly equipped to establish the policy and direct the operation of a new banking institution.
