LEWIS C. BUTLER.
Lewis C. Butler, actuated by a spirit of enterprise since making his initial step in the business world, has now reached the position of cashier in the Platte County State Bank at Wheatland, although he is still a young man. He was born in Bedford, Indiana, on the 1st of October, 1894, and is a son of E. L. and Lita (Barrow) Butler, both of whom are still living, being now residents of Indianapolis, Indiana.
While spending his youthful days under the parental roof, their son, Lewis C. Butler, attended the public schools until he had mastered the branches of learning therein taught, after which he entered the De Pauw University at Greencastle, Indiana, in which he pursued a classical course and was graduated with the Bachelor of Arts degree. He then turned his attention to banking, so that his entire business career has been directed along that line. He came to Wyoming in 1915 and acted as cashier in a private bank for a time. On the 1st of December, 1916, the Platte County State Bank was organized and Mr. Butler became its cashier and has so continued to the present time, contributing in no small measure to the growing success of this institution. He has made a close study of banking methods and business and is a courteous and obliging official, ever ready to extend the assistance of the bank to its patrons to a point that will not jeopardize the interest of the depositors.
On April 22, 1918, Mr. Butler married Leone Anderson, of Wheatland, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Anderson, a prominent family of that section of Wyoming. Mr. Butler is fond of outdoor life and when leisure permits spends his time in the open. He is deeply interested in all that pertains to the development of this young and growing state and cooperates heartily in any plan or measure for its upbuilding and progress. He is ambitious and energetic, not only for the advancement of his individual interests but also for the welfare of the community.
