C. ROY TILTON.
The name of Tilton figures prominently in connection with business development and enterprise in Saratoga and C. Roy Tilton is well known in connection with commercial interests as a partner in the firm of William E. Tilton & Son, conducting one of the important commercial interests of Saratoga. It was on the 8th of April, 1890, that he was born in the city in which he still resides, his parents being William E. and Alice (Montague) Tilton, mentioned elsewhere in this work. C. Roy Tilton pursued his education in the schools of Denver until he had mastered the lessons therein to be learned and later he became a student in the University of Wyoming at Laramie but did not continue the work to graduation. He pursued a business course and after thorough training returned to Saratoga, where he engaged in ranching in connection with his father for three years. He then established his present commercial enterprise in connection with his father and has conducted the business since 1915. It has grown to large proportions and is one of the important commercial interests of Saratoga and of Carbon county. The trade enjoyed is steadily growing and their establishment is well appointed, containing an extensive line of goods. Mr. Tilton is a Master Mason and exemplifies in his life the beneficent spirit of the craft, being ever ready to extend a helping hand to a fellow traveler on life’s journey. He is a director of the Commercial Club of Saratoga and he is interested in all that has to do with the welfare and progress of this section of the state.
