ANDERSON, Luke
DIED,-- On the 22nd of April, 1873, near Belleville, Luke Anderson, aged 72 years and 7 months, after a short but severe illness. He was born on Belleville Bottom, and was the last of the older Andersons, save one, Mrs Klinefelter, who is two years younger. He was the last surviving son of Peter Anderson, Esq., more generally known as the Indian Anderson, whose name in the border warfare is associated with Lee, Coleman, and others. Luke lived to see his children all married and settled for life. He was a member of the M. E. Church for a number of years before his death. Thus the old and first settlers of our county are passing away.
