Noah Daniel Terschueren
Noah Daniel Terschueren, 7, of Harrisonburg, VA, died Tuesday, NOv. 29, 2005, in the emergency room at Rockingham MEmorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, VA.
He was born June 3, 1998, in Viersen, Germany, and was the son of Joerg Heinz Terschueren of Korschenbroich, Germany, and Suzanne Eye Terschueren of Harrisonburg, VA.
He was a second-grader at Keister Elementary School and was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. He loved to play soccer, was a member of the Spotswood Dolphins Swim Team, played the violin and was to be in the upcoming play, "The Nutcracker."
In addition to his parents, survivors include a sister, Aviana Nichole Terschueren of Harrisonburg, VA, grandparents. Elisa P. Eye of Harrisonburg, VA, Dr. H. Luke Eye and Jane of Franklin and Walter and Paula Terschueren of Gelsenkirchen, Germany.
The Revs. Larry Thompson and Betsy Caudill conducted the funeral Saturday at Asbury United Methodist Church. Burial followed at Woodbine Cemetery.

Norma M. Combs
Norma Michael Combs, 80, of Cabins died Sunday, Dec. 4, 2005 at Grant County Nursing Home in Petersburg.
Born June 16, 1925, in Petersburg, she was the daughter of the late David S. Michael and Virgie Borror Michael.
Mrs. Combs graduated from Petersburg High School Class of 1943 and was a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church and a member of the Petersburg American Legion Post 78 Ladies Auxiliary and VFW Post 6454 Ladies Auxiliary.
Her husband, Marshall F. Combs, preceded her in death on Jan. 5.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving are two sons, Charles M. Combs of Romney and Marshall F. "Chip: Combs II, of Moorefield; two daughter, Marcia C. Warner of Franklin and Paula A. Hott of Upper Tract; nine grandchildren, Andra W. Keister, Michael E. Warner, Brent M. Combs, Ryan D. Combs, Kimbra A. Day, John Marshall Hott, Megan R. Combs, Monica L. Combs and Carter Marshall Combs; and four great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by infant twin sisters; one sister, Maxine Michael, and five brothers, Merle Michael, David Michael, William Michael, Woodrow Michael and Vernon Michael.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Schaeffer Funeral Home, Petersburg, with Rev. William M. Haynes, Jr., officiating. Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery, Petersburg.
Memorials may be made to Grant County Nursing Home or Burlington Childrens Home.
Morris C. Dahmer, 78
Morris C. Dahmer, 78, of Waynesboro, VA, passed away Monday, Dec. 5, 2005, at the Augusta Medical Center in Fishersville, VA.
He was the son of the late Emery Clinton and Susie Ella Ruddle Dahmer of Deer Run.
Funeral arrangements were incomplete at press time.
Joyce A. Bowers, 52
Joyce Ann Bowers, 52, of Franklin died Friday, DEc. 2, 2005, at the Sycamore Run Group Home in Fort Ashby.
Ms. Bowers ws born May 23, 1953, in Harrisonburg, VA, and was the daughter of the late H. Pink Bowers and Freida Bailey Bowers.
She never married .
She is survived by three brothers James E. "Jim" Bowers and Jack A. Bowers, both of Sugar Grove, and John F. Bowers of Franklin.
She was also preceded in death by one sister, Janet Harper.
The funeral was held Sunday at the Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin with the Rev. Jerry Smith officiating. Burial was at St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery in Moyers.
Iva W. Knicely, 94
Iva Waggy Knicely, 94, of Harrisonburg, VA, died Friday, Dec. 2, 2005, at Harrisonburg Health and Rehabilitation Center, Harrisonburg, VA.
Mrs. Knicely was born July 28, 1911, in Pendleton County and was the daughter of the late Hendren and Louella Mitchell Waggy.
She was a homemaker and was a member of St. Jacob's Spades Lutheran Church.
In 1932, she married James M. Knicely, who preceded her in death in June 1976.
She is survived by two sons, Gene E. Knicely of Harrisonburg, VA, and James I. Knicely of Alexandria, VA; two daughters, Alma Blankenship of Falls Church, VA, and Linda Carrier of Harrisonburg, VA; a brother, Forrest Waggy of Mount Jackson, VA; nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Diana Horton conducted the funeral Monday at the McMullen Funeral Home in Harrisonburg, VA. Burial followed at Mount Horeb Cemetery in Hinton, VA.

Verna B. Propst
Verna Blanche Propst, 83, of Franklin died Thursday, Dec. 1, 2005, at the Grant County Nursing Home in Petersburg, where she had resided since March 1998.
Mrs. Propst was born Oct. 10, 1922, in Ruddle and was the daughter of the late Lloyd Hammer and Verna Blanch Byrd Hammer.
She was a homemaker and a member of Mount Zion Lutheran Church.
On April 15, 1939, she married Russell Burton Propst, who preceded her in death on Aug. 24, 1994.
Surviving are three daughters, Stanna Smith of Upper Tract, Alma Propst of Baltimore, MD, and Velda J. Gilkeson of Dayton, VA; a son, Max S. Propst of Franklin; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by five brothers, one sister and one grandson, Lance Gilkeson.
The Rev. Ed Null and Pastors Craig and Wendy Richter conducted the funeral Saturday at the Chapel of the Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin. Burial was in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Franklin.

Larkin Ours
Larkin Bond Ours, 88, of Dorcas, died Friday, Dec. 2, 2005, at his home. Death was attributed to cancer.
Mr. Ours was born on April 4, 1917, in Grant County, and was the son of the late George E. and Sallie Bond Ours.
He was a lifetime farmer, a lamb grader for the West Virginia Department of Agriculture and the Pittsburgh Producers grading lambs in West Virginia, Pennsylvania and New York.
A native of Grant County, he devoted his adult life to serving the rural people of West Virginia. A student of farming and state government, he became known as Mr. Farmer because of his participation in many state and local organizations and as a member of the WV Legislature from 1954-1974. In the legislature, h he served on many committees. He was instrumental in the passage of many agriculture laws.
Mr. Ours was active in both 4-H club work and F.F.A. He was a West Virginia State Champion in 4-H Livestock Judge in 1935 and placed seventh in the national contest. He was a member of the F.F.A. State Livestock team. He was a 4-H Pin Wearer and 4-H All Star.
Because of his lifetime support of youth organizations, he received the Friend of 4-H Award, Honorary State F.F.A. Farmer Award and a special citation from the West Virginia Department of Education for his support of vocational education. He was inducted into the West Virginia Agriculture and Forestry Hall of Fame in 1982.
Mr. Ours was a member of Grant County Farm Bureau. He served on the State ASCS Committee, the Southern States board of directors, Grant County Committee on Aging and was chairman of the Grant County Nursing Home board of directors for 20 years.
He was a member of the Dorcas Baptist Church, having served as trustee, Sunday School superintendent and teacher. He was a member of the Petersburg Masonic Lodge NO. 145 A.F.&A.M., and in 1993 he received his 50 year pin.
On April 4, 1937, he married Helen Virginia Keller who preceded him in death on April 11
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He is survived by one daughter Sally Ann Dunkle and husband, Ralph of Franklin; two grandchildren, Sandra Jean Smith and husband, Brad of Dorcas, and Larkin Paul Dunkle "Duke" and wife, Melinda of Franklin; six great grandchildren, Justin Wade Smith, Trisha Marie Smith, both of Dorcas, and Bethany Danielle Dunkle, Dylan Paul Dunkle, Lindsay Brooke Dunkle and Dalton Levi Dunkle, all of Franklin. Also surviving are a special farm assistant, Zyundal Thorne, and family, several nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law, Ann Keller Heishman, a resident of the Grant County Nursing Home.
He was also preceded in death by one sister, Hazel Sites, and three brothers, Ray Ours, Clyde Ours and Ralph Ours.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Schaeffer Funeral Home, Petersburg, with Rev. Paul Donalson and Rev. Richard Longbon officiating. Burial was in the Olivet Cemetery, Moorefield. The Petersburg Masonic Lodge No. 145 A.F.& A.M. conducted graveside rites.

Aldah C. Judy
Aldah Cordelia Lambert Judy, 85, of Upper Tract, died Sunday, Dec 4, 2005, at her home.
Mrs. Judy was born Oct. 27, 1920, in Franklin and was the daughter of the late Luther H. Lambert and Ivory Propst Lambert.
She graduated from Franklin High School in 193e9. She was a lifetime member of the Upper Tract Fireman's Ladies' Auxiliary and was a member of South Mill Creek Church of the Brethren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Biser "Buck" Judy, in 1996.
Survivors include four sons, George Harvey "Buddy" Judy and wife, Karen of Lancing, NC, Stephen Mitchel Judy and wife, Barbara of Anaheim Hills, CA, Biser Eldon "Joe" Judy and wife Chris of Cabins, and Richard Scott Judy of Petersburg; a daughter, Cordelia Sue Kimble of Upper Tract; two brothers, Col. Eldon Lambert and wife Scottie of Williamsburg, VA, and Jerry Lambert and wife, Shelia of Franklin ; nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, Carl Lambert, and a son-in-law, Lindbergh D. Kimble.
The Rev. Stanley Kile and Pastor Randy Ours will conduct the funeral at 11 a.m. today at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg. Burial will be at Bowers Cemetery in Upper Tract.

Dorothy M. Guy, 76
Dorothy Mae Wright Guy, 75, of Franklin died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005, at Pendleton Nursing Home in Franklin.
Mrs. Guy was born Sept. 3, 1930, in Franklin and was the daughter of the late George Sherman and Margie Anna Moats Wright.
She was retired from Hanover Shoe Co., Franklin. She was a member of Emmanuel Chapel AME Church.
Her husband, Charles William Guy, preceded her in death May 4, 1994.
Surviving are four sons, Kevin Wright, Philip Wright, Sherman Wright and Andy Guy, all of Franklin. three brothers, Sterlin Wright of Buckhannon, DeWayne Wright of Morgantown and Harry Wright of Franklin; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, George Wright, Paul Wright and Lee Wright; and three sisters, Frances Wright, Shirley Wright and Charlotte Redman.
The Rev. Jackie Dorsey conducted the funeral Saturday at the Chapel of the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin. Burial was in the Wright Family Cemetery in Franklin.

Clarence "Pum" Thompson 
Charles Clarence "Pum" Thompson, 90, of the Reeds Creek area, Franklin, died Friday, Dec. 2, 2005, at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg.
Mr. Thompson was born May 21, 1915, at Ruddle and was the son of the late George Otis Thompson and Bessie Alice Hartman Thompson.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II, had worked for Ruddle Saw and Equipment, was a life member of Spruce Knob V.F.W. Post #2370 and a member of the Reeds Creek United Methodist Church.
On Dec. 27, 1947, he married Mary Hedrick Thompson, who survives.
ALso surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Nathan and Olive Thompson of Keyser; four sisters, Viola Hevener of Harrisonburg, VA, Tressie Bridges and Donna Casidy, both of Bridgewater, VA, and Jessie Snyder of Harman; and one brothers, Paul Thompson of Franklin.
He also was preceded in death by seven brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services were held Monday at the Chapel of the Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin with Rev. Gary Phillips and Rev. Stanley Kile officiating.
Burial was at Cherry Hill Cemetery in Upper Tract with military graveside services conducted by members of the Pendleton County Veterans Honor Guard.
