William N. Haney Sr
William Norman Haney Sr., 74, of Teter Gap Road, Circleville, died Wednesday, Nov 23, 2005, at his home.
MR. Haney was born Aug. 9, 1931, in Philadelphia, PA, and was the son of the late Samuel William Haney and Dorothy McGregor Haney.
He retired as a welder and machinist at Auto Body Repair and a painter and was a Navy and Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of T. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, the Disabled American Veteran and Spruce Mountain Ruritan Club.
Survivors include his wife, Rose Ann "Dee" Buchan Haney; two sons, William Norman Haney, II of Philadelphia, PA, and Thomas Francis Haney of Prescott, WI; two sisters, Mary L. Bauer and Carol Ann Sand ridge, both of Philadelphia, PA; four grandchildren, Sean, Mark, Erick and Rachel and one great-granddaughter, Madalyn Rose.
Father Mario Claro conducted the Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton CAtholic Church, Franklin. Burial was at North Fork Memorial Cemetery with military honors by the Pendleton County Veterans Honor Guard.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.

Russell K. Good, 73
Russell Keith "Bud" Good, 73, of Harrisonburg, VA, died Monday, Nov. 21, 2005, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, VA, from cancer.
Mr. Good was born Aug. 17, 1932, at Mouth of Seneca and was a son of the late William H. and Eva Miley Good.
HE grew up in the Timberville, VA, area and was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He moved to Harrisonburg, VA, in 1960. He was a member of the Gooden Brothers VFP Post No. 9292 and New Covenant Community Church in Weyers Cave, VA. He was a truck driver most of his life, having worked for Bill Neff and retired from Pat's Manor Homes.
On April 17, 1960, he married Manila "Sue" Knupp, who survives.
HE is also survived by four daughters, Gail K. Cameron of Sanford, NC, Maurita "Bowie" Roadcap of Penn Laird, VA, Delores "Mouse" Todd and April A. Knight , both of Grottoes, VA; two brothers, William "Hugh" Good of Timberville, VA, and Richard "Kelly" Good of Broadway VA; two sisters, Joy Miller of Broadway, VA, and June Harpine of Timberville, VA; 10 grandchildren and sic great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Jim Logan conducted the funeral Saturday at the Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg, VA. Burial was at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens with military honors.
Charles R. Slider, 86
Charles Richard Slider, 86, of Harrisonburg, VA, died Friday, Nov. 25, 2005, at Sunnyside Retirement Community in Harrisonburg, VA, where he had lived since Dec. 1, 1994.
Mr. Slider was born Feb. 22, 1919, in Aldie, VA, and was a son of the late William Hardie and Eula Clarke Slider.
He graduated from Daniel Baker College in Brownwood, TX, with a bachelor of arts degree and from Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, VA, with a Bachelor of Divinity. He earned his Doctor of Theology at the University of Denver Iliff School of Theology, and numerous post graduate training events.
Mr. Slider was ordained by the Lexington Presbytery on July 12, 1942. He was a member of the Shenandoah Presbytery and Presbyteries of Lexington, Memphis, North Mississippi, Hanover and Winchester. He was a pastor in Circleville and Seneca Rocks, Mount Solon, VA, Brownsville, TN, Marks, MS, Richmond, VA, Martinsburg and numerous small Presbyterian and Reformed Congregations after retiring as Pastor Emeritus on Nov. 28, 1982.
He was director of adult education and was managing editor of Curriculum Materials for Presbyterian Board of Christian Education in Richmond, VA. He was a Presbytery Executive for Winchester Presbytery and adjunct faculty member of the Medical College of Virginia and Richmond Professional Institute and Shepherd College in West Virginia in the field of Sociology of Religion and Bible. He was a board member of the Red Cross, Tri-County Pastoral Counseling Service. Panhandle Home Health Inc., Hospice, Berkeley County School of Religion and Served on a board committee at Peoples National Bank, et.al.
On Aug. 4, 1942, he married Ann Lee Trenary, who survives.
He is also survived by a son Charles Richard Slider, II, of Stephens City, VA; six siblings, David Slider, Mary Catherine Seay, Helen Horton, Margaret Pruitt, Elizabeth Jarvis and Bob Slider, all of Texas; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Anna L. Crider
Anna Lee Hiett "Bootie" Crider, 72, of Brandywine and formerly of Cumberland, MD, died Monday, Nov. 28, 2005, at her home.
Mrs. Crider was born Nov. 30, 1932, in Cumberland, MD and was a daughter of the late Jesse Hiett and Dolores Anna Buskey Hiett.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. She was a former member of the Pendleton County Rescue Squad and South Fork Ladies' Auxiliary.
On Dec. 8, 1950p, she married Luther Wayne Crider, who preceded her in death May 8, 1999.
Survivors include four daughters Deborah Ann Eye, Catherine Louise Adams and husband, Mike, and Sharon Renee Wheeler, all of Brandywine, and Rebecca Lynn Crider of Broadway, VA; two sons, Joseph Wayne Crider and wife, Dee, of Knoxville, TN, and Robert Evan Crider and wife, Wendy of Brandywine; three sisters, Teresa Lorraine "Bubs" McMillan of Oldtown, MD, Joan Kaylene Root of Wardensville and Dolores Ann "Toots" Vandevander of Hedgesville; three brothers, Rodney Leo Hiett of Falling Waters and Charles Edward Hiett and Stephen Nelson Hiett, both of Brandywine; 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Candace Ad ms, and one brother George Hiett.
Father Mario Claro will conduct the funeral at 2 p.m. today at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton CAtholic Church, Franklin. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery in Brandywine.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Hospice, Franklin.
The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin.
William Osgood, 89
William K. Osgood, 89, of Staunton, VA, passed away on Oct. 18, 2005, a few months before his 90th birthday and 70th wedding anniversary.
Born in Marlboro, MA, on April 8, 1916, he was a son of the late Charles Elliott Osgood and Elizabeth Smallwood Dayton Osgood.
Mr. Osgood was a member for Jollivue United Methodist Church and was an Army veteran of World War II. HE was a retired transportation planning engineer for the Connecticut State Highway Department, Read Voorhees & Associates. Mr. Osgood worked as an engineer in many parts of the world-Hartford, CT, Louisville, KY, New Orleans, LA, Toronto, Canada, ST. John, New Brunswick, Canada, and Caracas, Venezuela. MR. Osgood also worked in Washington, DC, for the U.S. Government and at Dupont in Waynesboro, VA.
In addition to his wife, Sara Margaret Simmons Osgood, MR. Osgood leaves behind two sons, John Osborn Osgood of Waynesboro, VA, and Ronald William Osgood of Springfield, MA; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Life ceremony was held for family and friends on Friday at the Jollivue United Methodist Church, Staunton, VA 24401. Interment was at St. Michael's Church Cemetery in Sugar Grove on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Jollivue United Methodist Church.
Hamrick Funeral Home, Staunton, VA, was in charge of funeral arrangements.
Catherine Gibson, 65
Catherine Elizabeth Gibson, 65, of Moorefield died Sunday, Nova. 20, 2005, at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg.
Mrs.. Gibson was born April 2, 1940, in Hardy County and was a
daughter of the late Wilbert J. and Mary C. Strawderman Hartman.
She was a member of the Living Water Worship Center.
Survivors include her husband, Roy E. Gibson; four sons, Mike Gibson and James Gibson, both of Moorefield and Charles L. Gibson and Steven R. Gibson, both of Culpeper VA; three daughters, Pam Whetzel and Bobbi Tippetts, both of Moorefield, and Melissa Whetzel of Keyser; four brothers, Lee Hartman, Richard Hartman, Junior Hartman and Kenny Hartman, all of Culpeper, VA; four sisters, Evelyn Zaun and Stella Wratchword, both of Moorefield, Judy Vandevander of Fort Seybert and Betty Harper of Old Fields; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Pastor Joe Dunsmore conducted the funeral Nov. 23 at Fraley Funeral Home in Moorefield. Burial followed at the Olivet Cemetery.

Eva K. Thompson, 90
Eva Kate Thompson, 90, of Riverton died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2005, at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg.
Mrs. Thompson was born Oct 16, 1915, in Simoda and was the daughter of the late Robert Bruce Hinkle and Sarah Almara Vandevander Hinkle.
She was a homemaker and a farmer.
On Feb. 22, 1933, she married Harry Thompson, who preceded her in death Aug. 10, 1993.
She is survived by five grandchildren, whom she raised, Linda Rexrode of Brandywine, Brenda Simmons of Circleville, Sarah Simmons of Franklin and Ann Thompson and Johnny W. Thompson, both of Riverton; a brother, Robert Hinkle of Riverton; and three great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by one son, Royal Delano (Bud) Thompson on Nov. 27, 1971, two brothers and one sister.
The Revs. Loon Hevener and Barbara Rexrode conducted the funeral Wednesday at the Riverton United Methodist Church. Burial was in the Thompson family cemetery in Riverton by Kimble Funeral Home, Franklin.

Noah Terschuren, 7
Noah Daniel Terschuren, seven of Harrisonburg, VA, died early Tuesday morning.
Born June 3, 1998, he was the son of Suzanne (Eye) Terschuren, of Harrisonburg, VA and Jory Terschuren of Germany.
Survivors include a sister, Avianna Nicole Terschuren of Harrisonburg, VA; grandfather, Dr. H. Luke Eye of Franklin; and grandmother, Elsie P. Eye of Harrisonbrug, VA.
Funeral arrangements were incomplete at press time.
