Glendora Wallace, 83

Gelndora T. Wallace, age 83, of Blue Grass, VA, died Thursday, Nov. 3, 2005, at Pendleton Nursing Home, Franklin.  

She was born April 18, 1922, in Linn, KS, a daughter of the late Michale Charles and Della (Lockas) Long.  

Mrs. Wallace was retired as a receptionist with a Doctor's office.  she was a member of the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.  

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Elwood Yonally; her second husband, Kenneth Wallace; and a brother, Marvin Long. 

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Roy Waggoner Jr. of Blue Grass, VA; two grandchildren; and two sisters, Sybil winter of Linn, KS and Lola Rice of Phoenix, AZ.

A memorial service was conducted Sunday at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell, VA, by the Rev. Mario R. Claro. 

The cremains will be buried in Minneapolis, KS.

Mildred Kline, 91

Mildred Roberta Kline, 91, of Harrisburg, NC, died at 11:26 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, 2005, at North East Medical Center. 

Mrs. Kline was born Aug. 31, 1914, in Huntersville and was a daughter of the late Robert William McQuain and Omega Madge Sheets McQuain. 

She was self-employed bookkeeper.  She taught school in Brandywine for four years and was a member of Roberta United Methodist church.  

Her husband Leon F. "Bid" Kline, preceded her in death.  

Survivors include a sister, Virginia Dare McQuain of Harrisburg, NC; and three nephews, Dan McQuain and Jeff McQuain, both of Potomac, MD, and Robert McQuain of Harrisburg, NC. 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Hunter McQuain.

The Rev. Deval Mason conducted the funeral Wednesday, at Roberta United Methodist Church in Concord, NC. Burial was at the Roberta United Methodist Church Cemetery in concord, NC. 

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.

Frances M. Wright

Frances Magdalene Wright, 68, of Franklin, died Friday, Nov. 4, 2005, at her home. 

Mrs. Wright was born June 17, 1937, in Franklin and was a daughter of the late George Sherman Wright and Margie Anna Moats Wright. 

She was a retired seamstress from Connie Sportswear in Franklin and was a member of the Emmanuel Chapel AME Church. 

Survivors include two daughters, Anna Elizabeth Wright of Franklin and Valerie Annette Jacobs of Shepherdstown; a son, Charles Craig Wright of Harrisonburg, VA; a sister, Dorothy Guy of Franklin ; three brothers, Sterlin Wright of Buckhannon, DeWayne Wright of Morgantown, and Harry Wright of Franklin; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. 

She also was preceded in death by one great-grandson, Malakai Wright; three brothers, George Wright, Paul Wright and Lee Wright; and two sisters, Shirley Wright and charlotte Redman. 

the Rev. Jackie Dorsey conducted the funeral Tuesday at the Basagic funeral Home in Franklin.  Burial was at Entry Mountain Cemetery.

Margie M. White

Margie M. White, 84, of Tampa, FL, died Nov. 6, 2005, at Mease Countryside Hospital, Safety Harbor Fl. 

Born March 21, 1921, at Franklin, she was the daughter of the late George S. and Myrtle Mae Simmons Moyers. 

Mrs. White was retired clerk from Boggs Mercantile in Franklin and Kenney Shoe Store in Richmond, VA.  She was a 1939 graduate of Franklin High School and a member of Franklin United Methodist church. 

Her husband, Edward Reeves White, preceded her in death on June 24. 1979.

Surviving are one daughter, Debra Diane Bruce of Tampa, FL; one step-son, James Edward White of Thousand Oaks, CA; two sisters, a twin, Julie Sim of Franklin and Helen Sim of Keyser; and two grandchildren.  

She also was preceded in death by two sisters. 

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the chapel of the Basagic Funeral Home, Franklin, with Pastor Carl Tribett officiating.  Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Franklin.

Memorials may be made to the Franklin Untied Methodist church.  

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.     

Arvella L. Skelton,71

Arvella Loraine Simmons Skelton, 71, of Churchville VA and formerly of Fairfax, VA, and Spotsylvania County VA, died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2005, at Shenandoah Nursing Home after battling cancer and suffering a stroke. 

Mrs. Skelton was born Nov. 2, 19033, in Mitchell and was a daughter of the late Walter Simmons and Mary (Propst) Simmons Propst.

She graduated from the Rockingham Hospital School of Nursing in 1954 and was a registered nurse for Rockingham Hospital.  She later moved to Northern Virginia, where she worked for several years as an emergency room nurse at Fairfax Hospital and Arlington Hospital before retiring to be a homemaker. 

She was united in marriage on Dec. 31, 1955 to Edgar Skelton, who survives.  

Also surviving are four children, Larry Skelton of Mount Crawford, VA, Cheryl Timm of Spotsylvania County, VA, and Sandra Skelton and Edmund Skelton, both of Churchville, VA; a sister Mary Alice Evick of Franklin; three step-brothers, Vernon, Leland and Kenneth Propst, all of Franklin; and a number of nieces and nephews. 

The funeral was conducted Friday in the chapel of Bear Funeral Home in Churchville, VA, with the Rev. Theodore M. Schulz officiating.  Burial was in Green Hill Cemetery, Churchville, VA. 

Memorial donations may be made to the Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, PO box 220, Dayton, VA  22821.
