Genevieve Mae Thompson 

Genevieve Mae Thompson, 78, of Stuarts Draft, VA, died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004, along with her husband Clarence Woods Thompson, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. 

Mrs. Thompson was born May 11, 1926, in Circleville, a daughter of the late Jennifer and Iscie Mullenax. 

She was a graduate of Circleville High School and the Mountain State Business college, Parkersburg.  She was a retired teacher's aide, and was the Augusta County Schools for 20+ years. 

She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, The Staunton and Waynesboro, VA, AARP, the retired Teacher's Association, the Calvary United Methodist Women, and the Order of the Eastern Star. 

Surviving are her sons, Steven Dale Arbogast and wife, Barbara of Hampton, VA, and Blair Lurty Arbogast and wife, Loraine of Staunton, VA; daughter, Faye Alta Green and husband, Rodney of Knoxville, TN; step sons, Charles G. Thompson and wife Marsha of Asheville, NC, and Michael W. Thompson of Waynesboro, VA; step daughter Ellen T. Welch and husband , Robert of Mt. Airy NC; brothers, Garland Mullenax and wife Gae of Cherry Grove, and Paul Mullenax of Circleville; five grandchildren, W. Dale Arbogast, Even G. Arbogast and Jessica F., Arbogast, all of STaunton, VA, Samuel C. Welch and Jack A. Welch, both of Mt. Airy, NC; and several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband of 38 years, W. Dale Arbogast; and a sister and brother-in0law, Arlene and Edward Rodriguez-Berriz. 

A graveside service was conducted at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Thornrose Cemetery in Staunton, VA, by Rev. Walter B. Failes, Jr. 

A memorial service followed at 2:00 p.m. at Calvary United Methodist Church in Stuarts Draft, VA. 

 Memorial contributions may e made to either Calvary United Methodist Church, 2179 Stuarts Draft Hwy, Stuarts Draft, VA 24477; or to the American Cancer society, 19210 H Medical Ave., Harrisonburg, VA  22801.  

McDow Funeral Home of Waynesboro, VA, handled the arrangements. 

David "Bo" Hise, 57 

David Leroy "Bo" Hise, 57, of WEbster Springs died Sunday, Oct. 24, 2004. 

Mr. Hise was born Sept. 3, 1947, in Cass and was a son of  Margaret Virginia Gum Hise of Monterey, VA, and the late William Jacob "Buck" Hise. 

He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was a construction worker and a logger. 

In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sons, David L. Hise, Jr., and wife, Jessie of Millboro, VA, and Jesse L. Hise of Cowen; five sisters, Phyllis Robertson of Richmond, VA, Betty Smith and Linda Hise, both of Monterey, VA, Sandra Burgoyne of Franklin and Judi Chandler of Manassas, VA; three brothers, James Hise of Franklin, William Gerald Hise of Rittman, OH, and Donald Hise of Cass; two grandchildren, and two step-grandchildren. 

The Rev. David Terry conducted a graveside service at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Hise family cemetery near Hightown, VA. 

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell, VA.
