Louie Carl Dunigan

Louie Carl Dunigan, 60, of Brandywine and formlery of Upper Marlboro, MD, died Oct. 22, 2008, at the University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville, VA.

Born Oct. 28, 1947, in Ieager, he was a son of the late Riley Jason and Pricie Vance Dunigan.

Mr. Dunigan retired as a locksmith from the Department of Treasury, Bureau of Engineering and printing.  He was a Baptist by faith.  He graduated from Baileysville High School in 1967.

Surviving are two sisters, Delana Vanover of Justice and Virginia Scott of Palm Coast, FL; five brothers, Ronnie Dunigan of Iaeger, Lonnie Dunigan of Millville, NJ, Clayton Dunigan of simon, Roy Dunigan of North Spring and Ernest Ray Dunigan of Coal City; and several nieces and nephews. 

funeral services were held Sunday at the chapel of Mounts funeral Home, Gilbert.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Basagic Funeral Home, Franklin. 

Beatrice E. Dove, 70

Beatrice Ellen Keller Dove, 70, of Timberville, VA, died Oct. 25, 2008, at her residence.

She was born Jan. 1, 1938, in Cave and was a daughter of the late Dick Ward and Grace Vandevander Newcomb.

She retired after 30 years working for Kennemetal as a tool and dye maker. She also worked part time for Food Lion. She was a member of the American Bowling League and Virginia State USBC-WBA. She was an Avon representative. She was a member of the Church of Latter-day Saints.

On Sept. 7, 1957, she married George Richard Keller, who preceded her in death on May 31, 1966.

She is survived by three daughters and son-in-law, Dixie E. and Kevin Showalter of Timberville, VA, Felnora Grace Keller of Virginia Beach, VA, and Monica K. Keller of Newport News; two sons and daughters-in-law, William W. and Jody Keller of Broadway, VA, Charles D. and Susan Keller of Abingdon, MD; two brothers, Dorian "Dode" Newcomb of Alliance, OH, and Albert Thomas Newcomb of Cherry Grove; two sisters, Helen Arebaugh of Cherry Grove, Lois Long of Aberdeen, MD; half sister, Dorothy "Dolly" Hillery of Rockville, MD; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her longtime companion, Howard "Shorty" Fultz Jr., a son, Timothy Brian Dove, a brother, Eugene Newcomb, and a sister, Roxie Barry.

The Rev. Jim Cook conducted a funeral service Tuesday at the Grandle Funeral Home Chapel in Broadway, VA. Burial followed at Olivet Cemetery in Moorefield.

Raymond Elwood Embeck

Raymond Elwood Embeck, 94, of Seneca Rocks died Oct. 24, 2008, at Grant County Nursing Home, Petersburg.

Born April 19, 1914, at Ellamore, he was the son of George and Hattie K. Conrad Embeck.

He was a veteran of the US Army, serving in World War II.  He retired as a power routing operator from First Energy Power Company.  He attended Randolph County Schools.  He was a Catholic by faith.

His first wife, Beulah Phillips, preceded him in death on Oct. 4, 1947.  His second wife, Phyllis Baker, preceded him in death on Jan. 4, 1966. 

Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Otto Koontz of Ravenna, OH. 

He was also preceded in death by one brother. 

Funeral services were held Monday at the High Rock United Methodist Church with Pastor Barbara Rexroad officiating.  Burial was in the Hedrick Family Cemetery with military graveside services by Pendleton county Veterans Honor Guard. 

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Basagic Funeral Home, Franklin.  

George H. Pope, 94

George Henry Pope, 94, son of Henry C. and Mary Jane Pope, formerly of Franklin, passed away at his Williamsburg, VA home on Oct. 24, 2008.

His wife of 67 years, Anne Barnett Pope, survives.

Also surviving are a son Randall of Miami, FL; and two daughters, Patti and her husband, Gary Grow, and Mary Laboy, all of Williamsburg, VA, area.
