Violet I.O. Shoemaker, 87, of Franklin, and formelry of Turlock, CA, died Sunday, Sept. 29, 2002, at Pendleton Nursing Home in Franklin.

Mrs. Shoemaker was born Dec. 30, 1914, in Norcader, KS, and was a daughter of the late Ernest Ritter and Nellie Alexander Ritter.

She was a homemaker and a retired waitress.

Her husband, Herman Oscar Shoemaker, preceded her in death on March 30, 1997.

Surviving are a son, Ralph Walter Shoemaker of Modesto, CA; two granddaughters, Connie eizikowitz of Benica, CA, and Sharon Benkert and her husband, Jospeh, of Franklin, with whom she lived; and three great-grandchildren, Michael Benkert, Lexington Park, MD, and James Ensley and Dawn Ensley, both of Benica, CA.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Joan Maria Fenley, on July 15, 2002.

Pastor Dan Ludwick will conduct the funeral at 5 p.m. today at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin. Burial will be at Stevinson Cemetery in Stevinson, CA.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to the Pendleton Rescue Squads.

Mrs. Eva Mae Propst, 81, of Reeds Creek Road, Franklin, died Friday Sept. 27, 2002, at the Grant County Nursing Home in Petersburg.

She was born May 4, 1921, at Reeds Creek and was the daughter of the late Robert and Mertie Propst.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Mount Hope Lutheran Church.

On Sept. 11, 1941, she married Floyd L. Propst, who preceded her in death April 29, 1991.

Surviving are one son, Floyd C. Propst of Silver Spring, MD; one step-daughter, Betty Wakeman of Maurertown, VA; two brothers, Herbert Propst of Bridgewater, VA, and Edwin Propst of Harrisonburg, VA; one step-granddaughter; and two step-great-grandchildren.

The Rev. Stanley Kile conducted the funeral service 2 p.m. Sunday at the Kimble Funeral Home Chapel in Franklin. Burial was at Oaklawn Cemetery in Franklin.

Clarence Junior Stump, 79, of Petersburg, died Monday, Sept. 23, 2002, at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg.

Mr. Stump was born Jan. 14, 1923, in Durgon and was the son of the late Clarence Franklin Stump and Rose Rebecca Mongold Stump.

He was a charter life member and past commander of the Potomac Highland Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6454 of Petersburg. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and received the American Theater Service Ribbon, the European African Middle Eastern Service Ribbon, the Good Conduct Medal and the Purple Heart Medal.

Mr. Stump was Methodist by faith.

Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Dorsaleen Auville Stump, whom he married Sept. 24, 1947; two sons, Gary Stump of Leesburg, VA, and Barry Stump of Winchester, VA; two daughters, Dianna Ritchey of Alexandria, VA, and Vicky Harper of Riverton; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded ind eath by one son, Roger Joe Stump, Feb. 7, 2000; and four brothers, Hiram Glen Stump, Robert Brooks Stump, Thomas W. Stump and James Edward Stump, He was the last memeber of his immediate family.

The Rev. Joseph Gerstell and Jay Linaburg conducted the funeral 11 a.m. Thursday at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg. Burial was at South Branch Valley Memorial Gardens in Petersburg.

Burl Kisamore, 81, of Petersburg, died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2002, at Pendleton Nursing Home in Franklin.

Mr. Kisamore was born Sept. 18, 1922,in Mouth of Seneca and was a son of the late Joel Kisamore and Clara Dolly Kisamore.

He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a retired tractor trailer truck driver with 40 years of service. He was a member of Corners United Methodist Church, the Petersburg I.O.O.F., and the Petersburg Veterans of Foreign Wars Post NO. 6454. He was a life member of American Legion Post 78 and the Disabled American Veterans.

His wife, Viola Marie Turner Kisamore, preceded him in death Dec. 24, 2000.

Surviving are two daughters, Mary Frances Guyton and Nancy Lee Kile, both of Petersburg; a stepson, Chester Lee Goldizen of Manassas, VA; six sisters, Velma Lyons of Petersburg, Vercie Carr, Maysville, Verda Bennett, Cabins, Ethel Dickerson of Florida, Otie Witacer of Washington State, and Ester Vernon of Chester, VA; two brothers, Marvin Kisamore of Cabins and Jonas Kisamore of Pendleton Nursing Home; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by one step-grandson, Michael Lee Goldizen.

The Revs. Stanley Kile and JosephGerstel conducted the funeral 11 a.m. Friday at theBasagic Funeral Home in Petersburg. Burial was at South Branch Valley Memorial Gardens in Petersburg with military rites by the combined veterans organizations of Grant County and the JR ROTC.
