Charles Eric Koenig, 39

Charles Eric Koenig, 39, Abilene, TX, died Tuesday, August 21, 2001

Mr. Koenig was born Sept. 11, 1961, in Naples, Italy, and was a son of Charles Edward Koenig and Geraldine Reginald Youmans Koenig of Beaver.

He was employed as a food service director for Aramark Corporation at Abilene Christian University in Abilene, TX. He had worked for the Bay Hill Club and Lodge, Orlando, FL, for Arnold Palmer. He was a graduate of London Central High School, London, England, and a graduate of Florida State University in 1984. He loved golfing.

He was married to MariSol Miranda Koenig of Abilene, TX, who survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Miranda Dean Koenig, Abilene, TX; four sisters, Christina Lea Koenig, Virginia Beach, VA, Heidi Marie Mabe and husband, Jerry, Powhatan, VA, Karla Anne Moats and husband, Jim, Sugar Grove, and Lili Marlene Drayer, Virginia Beach, VA; and one brother, Mark Dieter Koenig, San Diego, CA.

A memorial service will be held at the residence of Heidi and Jerry Mabe in Powhatan, VA, on September 8.

Lottie May Wimer, 90

Lottie May Wimer, 90, Purgitsville, died Friday, Aug. 24, 2001, at the Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg.

Mrs. Wimer was born in Mathias on May 26, 1911, in Mathias and was a daughter of the late Charles and Rosie Mongold Cullers.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Walnut Grove Church of the Brethren.

Her husband, John Calvin Wimer, died Aug. 15, 1968.

She is survived by a daughter, Ruby Lipscomb of Purgitsville, two foster daughters, Verda Lipscomb Hecks, Baltimore, MD, and Iness L. Cook, North Carolina; two sisters, Hulda Wimer, Moorefield, and Edith Whetzel, Peru; seven grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

The Revs. Donnie Knotts and Floyd Dove conducted the funeral at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Elmore Chambers Funeral Home in Moorefield. Burial followed at the Olivet Cemetery.

 

James Manuel Racca, 45

James Manuel Racca, 45, Bridgewater, died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2001, at his mother’s home in Verona, VA.

Mr. Racca was born August 8, 1956, at Staunton, VA, a son of Anna Simpson Racca of Verona, VA. and the late Manuel Racca.

He was a self employed painter.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Vickie Sue Sheets Racca, whom he married August 24, 1979; two daughters, Lori Michel Racca and Natasha DeAnne Mowbrey, both of Bridgewater, VA; a son, Michael James Racca of Bridgewater, VA; three sisters, Ella Makely of Harrisonburg, VA, Juanita Rexrode of Staunton, VA, and Roxanna Hilbert of Hanover, MD; and two brothers, William Showalter of Staunton, VA, and Thomas Racca of Gainesville, VA.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Marion Frances Racca.

Services were conducted at 4:00 p.m. Saturday at Verona United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Burch officiating.

Following the service, the body was cremated, at his request, and his remains were buried at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Franklin.

Mary Catherine Rexrode

Mary Catherine Rexrode, 73, Franklin, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001, at her residence.

Ms. Rexrode was born Oct. 2, 1927, at Dahmer, and was a daughter of the late Emory Clinton Rexrode and Mary Susan Propst Rexrode.

She was employed at Pendleton Nursing Home and was a housekeeper. She was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church.

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Donald Lee and Wilma Rexrode, Franklin; two sisters, Dorothy R. Judy, Monterey, VA. and Barbara A. Simmons, Franklin; one brother, Daniel Clinton Rexrode; and one granddaughter, Holly Dawn Rexrode.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, Phillip Rexrode, and one sister, Geneva M. Dahmer.

Visitation hours are from 6-8 p.m. today at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin.

The Rev. Dr. Cecil David Bradfield will conduct the funeral at 2 p.m. Friday at the St. John Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Franklin.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. John Lutheran Church or the Pendleton Nursing Home.

 

Dorothy M. Sites

Dorothy M. Sites, 85, died Monday, Aug. 27, 2001, at Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins.

Mrs. Sites was born July 26, 1916, at Whitmer and was a daughter of the late Sunday and Pearl Humphrey Dolly.

She was a homemaker and had worked at the Franklin Garment Company. She was a member of the Whitmer United Methodist Church and the EUB Ladies Auxiliary.

In 1930, she married Osce Sites, who preceded her in death in November of 1963.

Surviving are three daughters, Bernice Shrader, Petersburg, Shirley Kutz, Fredericksburg, VA, and Shelva Propst, LaPlata, MD; two sons, Blake Sites, Fairfax, VA, Bobby Sites, Dover, DE; twin sisters, Ruth Long, Whitmer, and Ruby Dolly, Riverton; four brothers, Clifford Dolly, Valley Bend, Eugene Dolly, Belington, Mike Dolly, Whitmer, and Jack Dolly, Ripley; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by four brothers, John Dolly, Floyd Dolly, Billy Dolly and Oakey Dolly; and two sisters, Vivian Tyre and Naomi Warner.

Graveside services were held 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the North Fork Memorial Cemetery at Riverton with Jack Vogel officiating.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin.
