Mabel C. Judy 

Mabel Claire Nelson Judy, 93, a resident at Nella's Nursing Home and formerly of Circleville, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2007, at the nursing home. 

Mrs. Judy was born Feb. 9, 1914, in Circleville and was the daughter of the late William Mckendry and Lillie Cassell Nelson. 

She graduated from Circleville High School in 1933 and was a member of the Circleville United Methodist Church. She was a nutritional aide/teacher. 

Her husband, Conway Keith Judy, preceded her in death Oct. 19, 2005. 

Surviving are a nephew William Daniel Nelson, and wife, Katherine of Goose Creek, SC. 

she was also preceded in death by one daughter, Naomi Ruth Judy; one brother, Vernon Nelson; two sisters, Mattie Thompson and Myrtle Nelson; and step-mother, Frances Mullenax nelson. 

The Revs. Earl Bible and Stanley Kile conducted the funeral Sunday at the Circleville United Methodist Church.  Burial was at Wimer Cemetery in Circleville. 

Memorial donations may be made to the Circleville United Methodist Church. 

Arrangements were by Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin. 

Thomas C. Neill, 56

Mr. Neill passed away Monday, July 30, 2007 at his home in Falkville, AL. 

Mr. Neill was born Aug. 28, 1950, in Jefferson County, AL, to Clara Clellan Fowler Neill of Birmingham, AL, and the late Luster Clayton Neill

He attended Lyman Ward Military Academy where he graduated as a Lieutenant with honors in 1971.  He enlisted in the United States Navy in June 1971 and  married his high school sweetheart in August 1971. 

Throughout his military career as a Cryptologic Technician (CTT-1), he and his fmaily were assigned to many duty stations at home and overseas. One of the many places the family adored living in for nearly five years was Franklin.  It was here that the Neill family attended Wayside Baptist church and developed their "farming" skills.  After  retiring from the Navy in February 1992 in Sugar Grove, he moved his fmaily back to his home state of Alabama and began his second career working for Wal-Mart where he managed the garden center for 15 years until his diagnosis with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, forced him into permanent retirement in 2005. 

Surviving besides his mother are his wife, Debra L. Neill of Falkville, AL; one son, Lieutenant Thomas Clayton Neill of San Diego, CA, where he serves in the United States Navy; two daughters, Captain, Amy Neill Estes of Montgomery, AL, where she serves in the United States Air Force, and Officer Julie Christina Neill of Hartselle, AL, where she serves as a police officer; and two sisters, Laura Thorton of Prattville, Al, and Susan Johnson of Hoover, AL. 

Funeral services were held Aug. 2 at Hartselle heritage Funeral Home chapel, Harselle, AL, with Rev. Jeff Redmond officiating.  Burial was in Simcoe Methodist  church Cemetery in Cullman, AL.  

Jerry K. Lambert

Jerry Kenton Lambert, 68, of Comfort, and formerly of Franklin, died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2007, at his home.

Mr. Lambert was born Jan. 22, 1939, in Zigler and was the son of the late Leslie Bert and Evelyn Melvina Smith Lambert. He was also preceded in death by one son, David Lambert; one brother, Howard Lambert; and two sisters, Flossie Bell and Rachel Lambert.

He graduated from Franklin High School in1958 and worked as a meat cutter for the Franklin Meat Market, Safeway and Franklin IGA.  He currently was a mail carrier and a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. 

His fiancee, Carmen Williams of Comfort, survives.  

Also surviving are three daughters, Kathy Stump of Petersburg, Pam Sponaugle of Franklin and Wendy Parkhurst of Fort Richardson, AK; four sisters, Virginia Lee White of Edmonds, WA, Doris Williams of Glencoe, PA, and Madeline Hoover and Mary Jane Santelli, both of Franklin; his fiancee, three children, Larry Williams, Gary Williams and Barbara Calvert; a half sister, Nancy Green of Frost; three brothers, Cleo Lambert of Willards, MD, Dale Lambert of Seattle, WA and Richard Lambert of Vulcan, Alberta, Canada; one half brother, Gary McKenney of Marlinton; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; and two step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, David; one brother, Howard; and two sisters, Flossie Bell and Rachel. 

Bishop Ronnie Kimble and Elder David Hartman conducted the funeral Saturday at the chapel of the Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin. Burial was in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Franklin.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or charity of choice. 

Lana S. Fulk, 58

Lana Susan Matheny Fulk, 58, of Harrisonburg, VA, died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2007, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg. 

Mrs. Fulk was born Mach 12, 1949, in Upper Tract and as the daughter of the late Charles and Eunice Cunningham Matheny. 

She graduated from the Rockingham Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1971 and was a registered nurse at Rockingham memorial Hospital from 1971 to 1986. 

On Aug. 27, 1972, she married Tom Fulk, who survives. 

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Audra Fulk and Kara Eppard, both of Harrisonburg, VA; and a granddaughter. 

A private graveside service was held with Wendell "Sonny" Henckel officiating.

McMullen Funeral Home in Harrisonburg, VA, was in charge of funeral arrangements.
