Albert W. Huffman

Albert Wayne Huffman, 64, of Franklin died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2006, in his garden at Upper Tract of an apparent heart attack. 

Mr. Huffman was born Jan. 29, 1942, in Franklin and was the son of the late Earlie Albert Huffman and Sylvia Mae Lambert Huffman. 

He was a retired construction worker and concrete finishers. 

His wife, Connie Mae Bowers Huffman, survives. 

Also surviving are three sons, Albert Wayne Huffman, Jr., of Loganville, GA, James Edward Huffman of Franklin and Kevin Andrew Huffman of Dayton, VA; four sisters, Rettie Mae Waggy of Franklin, Sarah Fay Harper of Bridgewater, VA, Mildred Florence Jennings of Peterstown and Rose Elva Adams of Wellsburg; a brother, Ralph Ora Huffman of Franklin; four grandchildren; and five step-grandchildren.  

he also was preceded in death by one brother, Earl L. Huffman, on March 3, 1979. 

Rev. Stanley Kile conducted the funeral Saturday in the chapel of the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin.  Burial was in the Hedrick Family Cemetery in Franklin. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Pendleton county Volunteer Fire Company or the American Heart Association. 

Robert "Doc" Dove, 75

A memorial service will be held Sunday, Aug. 13, at 10 a.m. at the Nroth Fork Cemetery, Riverton, for Robert "Doc" Worth Dove. 

Mr. Dove, 75, of San Diego, CA, died Wednesday, April 19, 2006, at Bradley Court of El Cajon , CA, and under the additional care of Vitas Hospice. 

He was born Jan. 30, 1931, in Riverton and was a son of the late Robert Dove and Kitty Teter Dove. 

He had lived 27 years in Ohio and the last 22 years in San Diego, CA. 

Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Dove; son, Robert N. Dove of San Diego, CA; two daughters, Joanna Kay Dove of San Diego, CA and Amy Carr and husband, Brian of Temecula, CA; four grandchildren, Dominic Howard, Gabrielle Howard, Eric Carr and Colleen Carr; one great grandchild, Talia Howard; two brothers, Gus Dove of Dover, DE, and Alton Dove of Riverton; four sisters, Lillian Teets of Seneca Rocks, Jeanne Bland and husband, Charles of Circleville, Molly Tidwell and husband, Carl of Decatur, GA, and Patricia Dickinson of Olney, MD. 

He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Betsy Galvin; three brothers, Bruce "Chip" Dove, Danny Dove and Ray Dove. 

Services were held in California. 

Robert W. Lambert, 80

Robert William Lambert, 80, of Blue Grass, VA, died Saturday, Aug. 5, 2006, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg.

mr. Lambert was born Oct. 20, 1925, in Riverton and was a son of the late Robert "Dick" Decateur and Edna Mullenax Lambert. 

He was a member of the Blue Grass United Methodist Church and was employed at Hooke Brothers Lumber company for over 32 years. 

 On March 20, 1948, he married Ruby Hinkle Fultz, who survives. 

Also surviving are two daughters, Sheila May Lambert of Williamsburg, VA, and Roberta Ann Lambert of Monterey, VA; a brother, Sherman O. Lambert of Franklin; a niece, Barbara Landis; an nephew, Jeffrey Sponaugle; and a great-niece, Kimberly Hamner. 

A sister, Shirley L. Sponaugle, also preceded him in death. 

The Rev. Andre Crummett conducted the funeral Tuesday at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell, VA.  Burial was at the Blue Grass Cemetery.
