Willie Clinton Wimer, 92 

Willie Clinton “Clint” Wimer, 92, of Cherry Grove, died Wednesday, July 30, 2003, at Nella’s Nursing Home in Crystal Springs.

He was born Feb. 24, 1911, at Hunting Ground, a son of the late Tiberius Wimer and Cora Ellen Thompson Wimer.

He was a farmer,  retired mail carrier and a school bus driver for Pendleton County Schools. He had served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a past member of Spruce Knob VFW Post 2370 and a Methodist by faith. 

On June 9, 1945, he married Ethel Jane Vandevander Wimer, who survives.

Also surviving are one son, Curtis and Sharon Wimer of Parsons; and two grandsons, Paul and Philip Wimer of Parsons.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.

The Rev Stanley Kile conducted the funeral at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Kimble Funeral Home Chapel in Franklin.  Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery at Franklin with graveside military services conducted by members of the Pendleton County Veterans Honor Guard. 

Mason P. Kisamore

Mason P. Kisamore, 89, a former resident of Seneca Rocks, and a resident of the Pendleton Nursing Home, passed away on Monday, Aug. 4, 2003, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.

He was born Nov. 24, 1913, at Riverton, a son of the late Phillip and Cordelia Nelson Kisamore.

He was united in marriage to the former Bessie Raines, who preceded him in death on Feb. 14, 1985.

Surviving are one son, Larry and Letha Kisamore of Riverton; one grandson, Kevin Kisamore and wife, Wendy; two stepgranddaughters, Anita Davis and Jacqueline Wilfong; one great-grandson, Cameron; two step-great-grandsons, Seth Davis and Garrett Wilfong; and one step-great-granddaughter, Jessica Wilfong, a twin sister, Mabel McDonald of Pendleton Nursing Home; and one brother, Henry Kisamore.

Preceding him in death besides his parents were five brothers, Emory Kisamore, Clen Kisamore, Mack Kisamore, Robert Kisamore and Jason Kisamore.

Mason was a lifelong farmer and a former member of the Spruce Knob Ruritan Club.

Friends will be received at F.E. Runner Funeral Home Chapel Thursday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. On Friday, Mr. Kisamore will be moved to Riverton United Methodist Church for visitation from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. the funeral hour. The Rev. Stanley Kile will officiate. Interment will follow in the Kisamore Family Cemetery in Riverton. 

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made in Mr. Kisamore’s name to the Pendleton Nursing Home in Franklin. 

Richard L. Dasher, 55

Richard Lamont Dasher, Sr. 55, of Fort Seybert, died Thursday, July 31, 2003, at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, VA. 

Mr. Dasher was born Dec 14, 1947, in Fairfax, Va, and was a son of Wayne and Madeline Dasher.  

He was a body and fender repairman at Kline Motor Sales for 13 years and was employed at WLR Food for five years.  He attended the House of Prayer Pentecostal Church in Franklin. 

Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Lois Miller Dasher, two sons, Kenneth L. Dasher of Mount Jackson, VA; and Richard L. Dasher, Jr. of Ruddle; two brothers, Leo Dasher and Gary Dasher, both of Woodstock, VA,  four half brothers, Robert Dasher and Vincent Dasher both of Hampton, VA, Tony Dasher of Front Royal, VA, and Stephen Dasher of Philippi; three half sisters, Kathy Pond of Front Royal, VA, and Peggy Black and Susan Dasher, both of Morristown, TN; three grandsons; and one step-grandson.  He was preceded in death by two sisters. 

Services were private with arrangements under the direction of the Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin. 

Zula Bell Long, 86

Zula Bell Mallow Long, 86, of Maysville, and formerly of Romney, died Thursday, July 31, 2003, at Memorial Hospital in Cumberland, MD. 

Mrs. Long was born May 17, 1917, in Brushy Run and was a daughter of the late Kenneth Mallow and Zernie Phares Mallow.

 She retired from Kinny Shoe Corporation Manufacturing in Romney in 1982.  She was a member of Romney Assembly [of] God Church. 

Her husband Elmer Long, preceded her in death April 25, 1957.  

She is survived by four daughters, Fae Anna Fuller of Romney, Gae Nell MacBurney of Baltimore, MD, Shirley Mae Malone of Short Gap, and Linda Lou Layton of Maysville; four sisters, Julie Vance and Kate Mallow, both of Cabins, Margie Long of Pendleton Nursing Home, Franklin, and Grace Anderson of Seneca Rocks, 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.    

She was preceded in death by an infant grandson, William Lee Fuller; two sons, Elmer Long and Roy Long; three brothers, infant A.M. Mallow, Dayton Mallow and Omar Mallow; and one sister, Mary Vance.

Pastor James F. Mou and the Rev. Ivan Ackerman conducted the funeral 2 p.m. Sunday at Romney Assembly of God Church, Romney.  Burial was at Ebenezer Cemetery in Romney.

Memorial donations may be made to the family, c/o Schaeffer Funeral Home, Petersburg, WV  26847.    

Carl Thompson

Carl Thompson, 76, of Circleville, died Monday, Aug. 4, 2003, at his residence.  

He was born Jan. 23, 1927, in Simoda, a son of the late Jason "Buzz" and Sadie Simmons Thompson.

He retired from Howes Leather Co. in Frank.  He was a US Army veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Circleville Presbyterian Church, a lifetime member of the VFW Post 6862 and a member of the American Legion. 

On Aug. 2, 1952, he married Joan Nelson, who survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Linda Harper, Elkins, and Debra Ann Dolly, Petersburg; two sons, Carl Thomas Thompson and Douglas Glen Thompson, both of Circleville; one sister, Mona O’Rouke, Springfield, Mo.; and four grandchildren, Joshua James Thompson, Tracy ANn Dolly, Bryant Tyler Harper and Bryten Thomas Thompson.  

He was preceded in death by two brothers, David and Gifford; and one sister, Bertha Estep.

The Rev. William Cox will conduct the funeral 11 a.m. today at the Circleville Presbyterian Church.  Burial will be in the North Fork Memorial Cemetery in Riverton with a military graveside services provided by Pendleton County Veterans Honor Guard. 

Family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Circleville Presbyterian Church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin. 

Memorial donations may be made to Circleville Presbyterian Church in care of Jane Wilkins. Basagic Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  

Sara Sue Judy, 80

Sara Sue Judy, 80, Rough Run, died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2003, at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg. 

Mrs. Judy was born Aug. 15, 1922, in Dorcas and was the daughter of the late Walter Kite and Mary Elizabeth Lewis Kite. 

 She was a homemaker and was custodian for the Dorcas Elementary School and served as postmaster for the former Dorcas Post Office for several years.  She was a member of the Dorcas Baptist Church.   

Her husband, Willard C. Judy, preceded her in death on May 15, 2003. 

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Roger L. and Wanda Judy of Dorcas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Gwen J. and Ernest Bland of Cabins and Jeanette and Kevin Wright of Franklin; seven grandchildren, Jill Judy Smith, Vincent Bland, Denise (Judy) Crites, Bridget (Judy) Vance, Mitzi Judy, Jason Redman and C.J. Redman Dolly; 13 great-grandchildren; and a special cousin, Betty Sue (Kite) Harvey and husband, James E. " Bill" of Vacaville, CA.  

She was also preceded in death by an infant brother. 

The Rev. Steve Davis conducted the funeral 1 a.m. Monday at Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg.  Burial was in the Dorcas Baptist Cemetery. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Dorcas Baptist Cemetery.
