William Hamilton, 81

William Frederick Hamilton, 81, of Cross Junction, VA, formerly of Stafford County , and Alexandria, VA, died Friday, July 23, 2004 at The Willows at Meadow Branch in Winchester, VA.

Mr. Hamilton was born on June 24, 1923, in Deer Run and was the son of the late Ora H. and Elizabeth Hamilton. 

He was an army veteran of world War II, and retired as vice-president from LogEtronics, Inc.  He was active in a number of civic organizations, and attended Redland United Methodist Church.  

He married Elizabeth Thompson, September 8, 1997, in Winchester, VA. 

Surviving are his wife are three children, a son, Randall R. Hamilton, and his wife, Margaret of Winchester, VA; two daughters, Barbara H. Smith and her husband, Robert of Alexandria, VA, and Mary Beth Kiernan, and her husband, tom of Virginia Beach, VA; two step sons, Thomas Thompson and wife, Pong of Fayetteville, VA and Mark Thompson of Bay St. Louis, MS, five grandchildren; and two step grandchildren.   

Surviving are also a sister, Norma Suter of Dayton,VA; and a brother, Charles Hamilton of Harrisonburg, VA. 

A sister, Iris Hamilton Ansel, is deceased.  

He was previously married to the former Cornelia Jean Ruddle, who preceded him in death in 1975.  

A memorial service was held at Redland United Methodist Church July 25 at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverend John B. Julcher presiding.  

Memorial contributions may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W. Cork St. #405, Winchester, VA 22601.  

Arrangements were handled by Omps Funeral Home-Amherst Chapel.  

Roy R. Kisamore, 83

Roy Richard Kisamore, 83, of Mount Crawford, VA, died July 21, 2004, at Rockingham memorial Hospital, Harrisonburg, VA.  He had been in failing health for several months. 

Mr. Kisamore was born on May 2, 1921, in Back Ridge and was the son of the late Ora Hobart and Leanna (Annie) Wimer Kisamore.  His only schooling was at Back Ridge Elementary School  He joined the United States Army at age 21, served during World War II and was stationed in Australia before being released on medical discharge.  In 1947, he and his wife, raised range turkeys for Joe Stickler.  He later started working at Ludwig Chevrolet in Petersbug.  After that, he worked at Page Dodge Garage in Moorefield where he got his G.I. bill mechanical training.  He also worked at Bean's Ford Garage, Oliver Jordan Dairy Farm, Bridgewater Ethan Allen Furniture Store, and Victor Metals where he worked for 16 years and retired in 1983.  He was a member of the Mount Pleasant Church of the Brethren. 

On Jan. 20, 1945, he married his sweetheart, the former Christena Lambert, who survives. 

also surviving are two daughters, Mary Ann Cline and her husband, Franklin of Mount Crawford, VA, and Dorothy Mae Lilly of Mount Crawford, VA; two sons, Joseph Ray Kisamore and wife, Sharon J. of Rawley Springs, VA and Allen Dale Kisamore and wife, Terri Lynn of Mount Crawford, VA; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.  He was the last of four children in his family.  

Pastors Henry Elsea, Jr., and C. Reynold Simmons conducted a funeral service Saturday morning at the Mount Pleasant church of the Brethren.  Burial followed at the church cemetery with military rites by the Rion Bowman VFW Post No. 632.   

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Mount Pleasant church of the Brethren Building Fund, 2788 Taylor Springs Road, Harrisonburg, VA  22801. 

McMullen Funeral Home, Harrisonburg, VA, was in charge of funeral arrangements.
