Arvin Junior Hoover
Arvin Junior Hoover, 81, of Brandywine passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2011 at Hospice Care Regional
Impatient Center in Elkins.He was born in Brandywine on Feb. 2, 1930, the son of the late Luman Lester and Cora Alice Kuykendall
Hoover.Mr. Hoover attended Brandywine Schools, was a member of First Baptist Church in Brandywine and worked for
Marvel and Wampler Poultry Plants.On March 23, 1957, he married Polly Ann Hutchens Cayton, who survives in Brandywine.
Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Bernard Leo Hoover, and a sister, Thelma Kuykendall.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin with Rev. James Jennings
officiating.Family received friends on Wednesday, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Following services, Mr. Hoover’s body was cremated.

Arthur Dale Hedrick
Arthur Dale Hedrick, 66, of Riverton passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in
Morgantown.He was born in Riverton on April 10, 1945, the son of the late Brozie and Mary Hedrick Harper.
Mr. Hedrick attended Pendleton County School, was a farmer and a member of the Valley Chapel United
Methodist Church.Josephine Day of Riverton has been Mr. Hedrick’s caretaker and companion since Oct. 5, 1997.
Surviving are a sister, Anna Marie Mallow and husband, Charles of Riverton; a nephew, Wesley Robert Mallow
of Riverton; and a niece, Jessica Leanne Mallow of Riverton.Funeral services were held Sunday at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin with Rev. Robert Baer, Jr. and
Pastor James Sims officiating. Burial was in North Fork Memorial Cemetery, Riverton.Memorials may be made to the family, c/o the Basagic Funeral Home. PO Box 215, Franklin, WV 26807.

Dolan Burrell Bennett, 77, of Seneca Rocks passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2011, at Hospice Care Regional
Impatient Center in Elkins.He was born in Teterton on Dec. 4, 1933, the son of the late Burrell and Genevieve Harper Bennett.
Mr. Bennett attended Circleville High School and was a member of the North Fork Baptist Church in Riverton.
He was a Korean War Veteran of the US Air Force. He was employed for 33 years at LTV Steel Mills in
Youngstown, OH.On Aug. 15, 1953, he married Shirley Mallow Bennett, who survives in Seneca Rocks.
Also surviving are a daughter, Kathi Darlene Propst and husband, Charles of Seneca Rocks; a sister, Carolyn
Kremer and husband, Don of Seneca Rocks; and a granddaughter, Lara Vainavicz and husband, Jeremy of Portage, MI.He was also preceded in death by a brother, Herman Bennett.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the North Fork Baptist Church, Riverton, with Pastor Roger Gorby
officiating. Interment was at North Fork Memorial Cemetery, Riverton.Memorials may be made to Grant County Commission on Aging.

Martha S. Hickman
Martha S. Hickman, 83, passed peacefully on Sunday July 17, 2011, at Birch Gardens in Fishersville, VA.
Born and raised in Riverton she was a 62-year resident of Waynesboro, VA and was the daughter of the late
Madeline Judy Simmons and Lester Clyde Simmons.She was a bookkeeper for Crompton-Shenandoah before marrying and becoming a homemaker and was a
member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. She was a sweet country girl with a kind and gentle spirit and sparkling green eyes. She made the yummiest cookies and cared well for her family and friends.Her husband, Robert Hickman, preceded her in death.
Surviving are two children, Robert Hickman and Amy Hickman; her sister, Nancy Poleo; and her best friend of
50 years, Mary Ann Batten.She was also preceded in death by her three sisters, Ruth Simmons, Mary Pugh and Faye Nottingham; an three
brothers, Wayne Simmons, Jake Simmons and Paul Simmons.Services will be private.

Daniel Lysle Miller, 54, of Upper Tract, died Saturday, July 9, 2011, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 21, 1956, in Petersburg and was a son of Mary Ann (Alt) Miller of Spotsylvania, VA, and the
late Dewey Scott Miller.Surviving, in addition to his mother, are two brothers, Mark Miller of Spotsylvania, VA, and Alan Miller of
Rixeyville, VA; and several nieces and nephews.Graveside services will be held Saturday, Aug. 6 at 11:00 a.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery with Pastor Charles D.
