Eva Florence Hedrick, 73, Franklin, died Tuesday, July 3, 2001 at Rockingham Memorial Hospital, Harrisonburg, VA.

Mrs. Hedrick was born December 9, 1927, at Franklin and was the daughter of the late William Harvey and Leah Zettie (Whetzel) Rexrode.

Surviving are her husband, Luther Hedrick; one son, Keith Hedrick, Franklin; two step sons, Cody Hedrick and Terry Hedrick, both of Frnaklin; four sisters, Alice Rexrode, Franklin, Christine Breeden and Martha Rexrode, both of Harrisonburg, VA, and Margaret Wolfe, Waynesboro, VA; one grandson, Adam Hedrick; and five step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Ruby Eye.

Pastor Mary Poston conducted the funeral at 11 a.m. Saturday at Faith Lutheran Church in Franklin. Burial was at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Basagic Funeral Home, Franklin.

Theresa "Bobbi" Orland Lambert, 84, Pendleton Nursing Home, Frnaklin, and formerly of Riverton, died Thursday, July 5, 2001, at the nursing home, where she lived since January, 1997.

Mrs. Lambert was born June 24, 1917, in Dry Run and was a daughter of the late troy Waybirght and Kate Warner Waybright.

She worked for the Hostess/Hot Shoppe in Maryland and Washington, DC, for 15 years and was dining room manager. Later she was appointed Champagne Lady in all the leading hotels and served champagne and worked the Presidential Inaugural Balls and met many persons including Senator Derkson, Lawrence Welk, Guy Lombardo, Bob Hope, Presidents Nixon, Kennedy and Johnson. She wwas a member of the Riverton United Methodist Church and the Ladies' Auxiliary Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6862. She was a Pendleton County Belle in 1989 and was a member of the Dixie CEOS. She was a graduate of Central High School in Washington DC.

On April 3, 1936, she married Joseph Cannon Lambert, who died April 9, 1973.

She is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Waybright, Riverton; a son Darrell Monte Lambert, BatonRouge, LA; two sisters, Ardith Murphy, Cherry Grove, and Elizabeth Foster, Missouri; two brothers, Joe Waybright, Alexandria, VA, and Troy Waybright, Jr., Warsaw, OH; one grandson, Steve Waybright, Jr.; and five great-grandchildren, Steve Redman, Devin Waybright, Tanner Shoemaker, Jamie Lambert and Robbie Newman.

She was alos preceded in death by three grandchildren, Darrell Joseph Lambert, Deanna Newman, and Darrell Monte Lambert, Jr;. three brothers, Tom Waybright, Warner Waybright, and Vivian Waybright; and four sisters, Tutie Mullenax, Connie Marshall, Gwendolyn Day, and doff Hise.

Pastor Barbara Rexrode and DR. Paul O'Gorek conducted the funeral at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Riverton United Methodist Church. Burial was a t the North Fork Memorial Cemetery in Riverton.

Martha Alice (Propst) Massie, 76, Waynesboro, VA, died Monday, July 9, 2001 in Avante at Waynesboro, VA.

Mrs. Massie was born on Oct 23, 1924, in Pendleton County, a daughter of the late Albert Thomas and Elizabeth Jane (Halterman) Propst.

Prior to retirement, she was manager of the Triangle Shoe Store. She was a member of Glovier Memorial United Methodist Church and the Waynesboro Women of the Moose.

She is survived by her husband, Walton R. Massie; two sons, Thomas L. Bellamy, Waynesboro, VA, and David C. Trainum, Stuarts Draft, VA; a brother, Albert E. Propst, Christiansburg, VA; four grandchildren, Kathy Bellamy Brown, Thomas Bellamy, Donna K. Maynard, and Amanda Trainum; and thre great-grandchildren, Andrew, Paige, and Evan Bellamy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Earl L. Propst and a sister, Lillie K. Lyons.

The Revs. Jim Burns and John McLean will conduct the service at 2 p.m. today in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens.

The family received frineds from 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.

Ralph V. Painter, 77, Grafton, died Monday, July 9, 2001, at his residence.

Mr. Painter was born in Upper Tract July 11, 1923, and as the son of the late Tommy V. Painter and Tressie L. (Propst) Painter.

He was a retired lineman for Monongahela Power Company, having retired in 1985, with over 39 years and 10 months of service. He was a member of the Grafton Masonic Lodge #15 A.F.& A.M., the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry 32 Degree of Wheeling, and the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry 18 Degree of Clarksburg. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Grafton where he served as a deacon of the church.

Surviving are his wife, Evelyn M. Painter, whom he married on June 11. 1949; one daughter, Mrs. Curtis (Penny) Hickman, Shinnston; two grandsons, Jason E. Hickman, Shinnston, and Joshua C. Hickman, Parkersburg; one granddaughter, Mrs. Brian (Misty) Satterfield, Fairmont; one great-granddaughter, Autumn Lea Satterfield; one great-grandson, Breyden Edward Satterfield; one brother, Stanley W. Painter and wife, Wanda, Elkins; one sister, Mrs. Jack (Kay) Lambert, Rocky Mount, NC; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Holly Mae Painter, one brother, Johnnie W. Painter; and one sister, Cora Lynn Wise.

The family received friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton on Tuesday, from7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted today at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Oren Reneau officiating. Interment will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Franklin.

James Lee "Jimmy" Moats, 62, of McDowell, VA, died Friday, July 6, 2001, at his second home on Rt. 617 in Doe Hill, VA.

Mr. Moats was born April 12, 1939 at McDowell, VA, and was a son of [sic] and Ada Belle (Vandevander) Moats and the late LutherWilliam Moats.

On March 28, 1959, he married Jenny Lee Puffenbarger, who preceded him in death on Feb. 7, 2001.

He attended the McDowell United Methodist church. He had worked at Rule Volkswagen in Staunton, VA, for 22 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and an antique toy and model train collector. He was an inactive member of the McDowell Volunteer Fire Department.

He is survived by his mother, Ada Belle Snyder of McDowell, VA; three daughters, and sons-in-law, Debbie and Steve Burns, Patsy and Gary Rexrode, and Penny and David Booth, all of McDowell, VA; a special uncle, Randolph Moats; a special Niece, Dorothy Harrington; a special nephew, Jr. Puffenbarger; special friends, Steve Gary, Howard and Joyce Kelley and Shannon Maloy; a number of nieces and nephews; and a large circle of friends.

A funeral service was conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at the Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell, VA, with the Rev. Jerry Ginn and Rev. David Boger officiating. Burial was in the McKendree Cemetery.
