Margaret Ann Hartman

Margaret Ann Hartman, 53, of Brandywine passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2011, at Colonia Beach, VA as a result of a boating accident.

She was born in Martinsburg on Nov. 1, 1957, the daughter of Conrad Edward and Barbara Ruppenthal Beard of Hagerstown, MD.

She was a 1975 graduate of Northern Hagerstown High School and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Franklin. Mrs. Hartman was employed for 30 years as a program technician at the Farm Service Agency of the USDA, formerly known as the ASCS Office in Franklin.

On Sept. 28, 1991, she married Lyle Wilson Hartman, who survives in Brandywine.

Also surviving are two sons, Thomas Ryan Hammer and Isaac Wilson Hartman, both of Brandywine; a sister, Karen Poffenberger and husband, Tony of Jefferson, MD; and a brother, Conrad Edward Beard, II and wife, Regina of Hagerstown, MD.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Franklin with Bishop Ronnie R. Kimble and Elder David Hartman officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Franklin.

The family will receive friends this evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin.

Stanley Hedrick, Sr., 59

Stanley William “Frog” Hedrick, Sr., 59, of Harrisonburg, VA, died July 3, 2011, at his residence.

He was born Feb. 3, 1952, in Petersburg and was the son of Robert E. Hedrick, Sr., of Kentucky and Bertha Bowers of Franklin.

He was a molder for Graham Packaging for 36 years and was a lifetime member of the North American Hunt Club.

On Feb. 3, 1996, he married the former Teresa Goolsby, who survives.

Also surviving are a step-mother, Edna Hedrick of Kentucky; two children and their spouses, Stanley Hedrick, Jr. (Patty) of Pennsylvania and Leslie Hedrick (Jim) of Pennsylvania; three step-children and their spouses, Larry Miller, II (Misty) of Broadway, VA, Sherry Carr (Keith) of Fulks Run, VA, and Kim Miller (Mike) of Harrisonburg, VA; brothers and sisters and their spouses, Robert Hedrick, Jr. (Beverly) of Indiana, Betty Etherton (Mitch) Kentucky, Leslie Lynn Hedrick and Joann Hedrick of Tennessee; step-brothers and step-sisters and their spouses, Ronnie Bowers (Christine) and donna Sue Arrington ( William), both of Sugar Grove, Robin Eckard and Anita Bowers, both of Harrisonburg, VA, and Jerry Bowers (Tammy) of Onego; grandchildren,

Tony, Stanley, III, Cassie Destiny and Hailey; step-grandchildren, Damon, Dylan, Britney and Jasmine; a number of nieces and nephews; a special uncle, Green Hedrick and wife, Mary of Franklin; and a faithful companion, Bubba.

Preceding him in death were Leonard and Betty Jane Hedrick and Leslie and Dessie Hedrick who raised Mr. Hedrick in their home; a step-brother, Donnie Bowers; and step-father, Stover Bowers.

Funeral services will be held today at 2 p.m. at the Grandle Funeral Home Chapel in Broadway, Va, with Rev. Donald Bare officiating. Burial will follow at the Lacey Springs Cemetery.

The family received friends Wednesday from 6 p.m. t 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pansy Kimble, 89

Pansy Myrtle Lewis Kimble, 89, of Lorton, Woodbridge and King George, VA, died Saturday, July 2, 2011, at the home of her son.

She was born Dec. 22, 1921, at Petersburg and was the daughter of the late Arthur and Ella Mae Lewis.

She retired as a practical nurse from DeWitt Army Hospital at Ft. Belvoir, VA.

Her husband, Junior T. Kimble preceded her in death on July 8, 1980.

Surviving are three daughters, Jean Mae Rose and husband, Robert of Woodbridge, VA, Dyerline Noll and

husband, Edward of Chocowinity, NC and Sandra Massey and husband, Michael of Colonia Beath, VA; two sons, Jack T. Kimble and wife, Robin of King George, VA, and James W. Kimble and wife, Shirley of Stafford, VA; one brother, Ralph Lewis and wife, Alberta of Fort Washington, MD: two sisters, Mildred Riggleman of Winchester, VA, and Leona Kimble of Petersburg, VA; 17 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a loving granddaughter, Lisa Anne Kimble, on Dec. 22, 2006.

Funeral services will be held today at 1:00 p.m. at the Kimble Funeral Home Chapel in Franklin with Rev. Rita

Beeman officiating. Burial will be at the Cherry Hill Cemetery at Upper Tract.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1: 00 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Margaret “Betty” Cline

Margaret “Betty” Cline of Harrisonburg, VA, passed away on Friday, July 1, 2011 at Willow Estates.

She was born on July 25, 1924, in Petersburg and was the daughter of the late Robert and Bessie Ashenfelter.

Mrs. Cline was a graduate of Petersburg High School and a faithful member of Asbury United Methodist Church.

She worked with her husband, Gordon Cline, as a co-owner of the Cline’s Furniture in Franklin.

On April 3, 1942, she married H. Gordon Cline, who preceded her in death on Sept. 19, 1994.

Surviving are two sons, Robert G. Cline and wife, Billie R. Cline and Phillip L. Cline; two grandchildren, Matthew L. Cline and Erin C. Furey; three great-grandchildren, Faith Cline, Megan Furey and Justin Furey and a brother, Wallace H. Ashenfelter.

She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Nellie, Jean, Catherine and Patsy; and three brother, Jim, Tabby and Jack.

A funeral service was held Tuesday at the Kyger Funeral Home Chapel in Harrisonburg, VA, wuth the Rev. Kathleen Overby Webster officiating. Interment followed at the Mausoleum at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens.
