Clyde R. Botkin, 81

Clyde Rudolph Botkin, 81, of McDowell, VA, died Monday, June 9, 2008, at King’s Daughters’ Community Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. Botkin was born May 14, 1927, in McDowell, VA, and was a son of the late George Marvin and Mary Clay (Botkin) Botkin.

He retired from Holsom Bakery and was an Army veteran of World War II.

His wife, Violet Whitmire Botkin, preceded him in death.

Survivors include a daughter, Patsy Botkin of McDowell, VA, with whom he made his home; three sons, Roger D. Botkin of Sugar Grove, and David A. Botkin and Michael D. Botkin, both of Crimora, VA; a sister, Bernadine Wimer of Staunton, VA; a brother, Clarence “Frosty” Botkin of Fort Worth, TX; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Arbovale Cemetery. His body was cremated.

Arrangements are by Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell.
