Melvin William Riggleman

Melvin William “Peanut” Riggleman, 68, of Circleville passed away on Monday, May 18, 2009.

Mr. Riggleman was born in Keyser on Sept. 22, 1940, the son of the late Thomas William and Bertha Mary Ferrebee Riggleman.

He attended Mineral County Schools and worked as a farm hand for 23 years on the Keith and Idelta Lambert Farm in Circleville.

Surviving are two sisters, Helen and Thelma; and three brothers, Branson Riggleman, Richard Riggleman and James Riggleman.

He was also preceded in death by two sisters, an infant and Hazel.

Rev. Stanley Kile conducted a graveside service on Friday at the North Fork Memorial Cemetery, Riverton.

Memorials may be made to Pendleton County Rescue Squads.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Basagic Funeral Home, Franklin.

John C. Armentrout

John C. Armentrout, 82, of Columbus, IN, died at 8:35 a.m. Monday, May 25, 2009, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin, IN.

Born in Maxville on March 3, 1927, Mr. Armentrout was the son of the late Grover C. and Margie Harper Armentrout.

Mr. Armentrout was a US Army veteran of the Korean War.

He was a core finisher at Golden Foundry retiring after 31-1/2 years of service and was a member of the Civil Defense.

Mr. Armentrout enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening.

His wife, Mary E. Mollett, whom he married on March 8, 1952, survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Sheldon (Kelly) Armentrout of Edinburgh, IN, John J. (Kathy) Armentrout of Indianapolis, IN, and Davie J. (Beverly) Armentrout of Columbus, IN; four grandchildren, John Edward (Angie) Armentrout of Brown County, IN, Joshua D. Armentrout and Amy Jo Brunning, both of Indianapolis, IN, and Christopher Armentrout of Greensburg, IN; two great-grandchildren, Sierra and Jacob Armentrout; two brothers, Ray Armentrout of Seneca Rocks and Guy (Mary) Armentrout of Cherry Grove; three sisters, Carrie (Don) Wetch of Elkins, Jean (Larry) Wimer of Riverton and Ann Armentrout of Ocala, FL; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by four grandchildren, Brent, Nathan, Natalie and Amanda Jo Armentrout; a brother, Arthur Armentrout; and two sisters, Grace Smith and Ruby Armentrout.

The funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. today at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Jonathan Moore Pike, Columbus, IN, with the Rev. Roger Gifford officiating.  Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Calling was from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:30 a.m. until service time on Thursday.
