Howard Lough, 91

Howard Leon "Tech" Lough, 91, a resident at the Retired Soldiers and Airmens Home, Washington, DC, died May 20, 2005, at Casey House Hospice, Rockville, MD. 

Born April 27, 1914, at Franklin, he was the son of the late Howard and Hattie D. Glover Lough. 

Mr. Lough served in World War II in Korea, US Army and was retired from the US Air Force.  He was a member of the Franklin Evangelical United Brethren Church, the VFW and American Legion. 

His, wife, Virginia Trainer Lough, preceded him in death. 

Surviving are one son, James Lough of Florida, two brothers, James Russell Lough and Bobby Lough, both of Cumberland, MD; a number of grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 

He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Walton, Raymond and Arlie Lough; and two sisters, Myrtle Hartman and Marie Swanson. 

A graveside service conducted by the Pendleton County Veteran Honor Guard and Rev. Susie Echols was held Wednesday at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Franklin. 

Basagic Funeral Home, Franklin, was in charge of funeral arrangements. 

Ervin Wratchford, 102

Ervin Jeremiah Wratchford, 102, of Moorefield died Saturday, may 21, 2005, at his home. 

Mr. Wratchford was born July 24, 1902, in Petersburg and was the son of the late Phillip Wratchford and Eva Riggleman Wratchford. 

He was a retired  carpenter and wood craftsman and was a member of the Moorefield church of the Brethren. 

His wife of almost 63 years, Bessie Lee Gochenour Wratchford, preceded him in death Jan. 16, 1989. 

Survivors include seven daughters, Lena Hinkle, Bonnie Hines and Virginia Baldwin, all of Moorefield, Lila Ann Sine of Winchester, VA, Alice French of Baltimore, MD, Dorothy Ritchie of Harrisonburg, VA, and Phyliss Shobe of Richmond, VA; four sons, Johnnie Wratchford of Franklin, David Wratchford of Stephens City, VA, Norman " Bud" Wratchford of Moorefield and Walter Wratchford of Frederick, MD; a sister, Esta Malcolm of Fort Ashby; 24 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. 

Pastor Ted Osgood conducted the funeral Wednesday at the Elmore Funeral Home in Moorefield.  Burial followed at the Olivet Cemetery. 

Memorial donations may be made to the Grant Memorial Hospice of Petersburg, WV.  

Claude E. Braley, 78

Claude Ellis Braley, 78, of Huntington passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2005, at his residence. 

Born Oct. 31, 1926, in Huntington, he was a son of the late Ebbie and Lola Martin Cummins Braley. 

Mr. Braley retired from Kraft Foods in 1985.  He was a member of Pea Ridge United Methodist Church since 1938, and an active member of Fellowship Sunday School Class.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during World War II in the Pacific Arena on three ships as a signalman 2nd class.  He was a member of Minerva Lodge #13 AF&AM for 57 years.  He was a charter member of the Barboursville Sportsman Club, involved for several years with the Boy Scouts of America with Troop #62 and was a graduate of Barboursville High School.  

He had a great love for the mountains and streams of West Virginia, hunting and fishing and the "camp" in Pendleton county, where he spent a lot of his time. 

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Hankins Braley; three sons and daughters-in-law, James Edward and Sheila Braley of Ona, Thomas Ellis and Rosemary Braley of Cornelius, NC, and Donald Lee and Shelly Braley of Huntington; sisters Edna Mae Braley of Huntington, Betty Lous Dunkle of Barboursville and Anna Faye Ray of Charleston; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; twospecial friends, Bob Doss and Denny Dunkle.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Donlad Lee Braley and Glenn Edward Braley. 

Funeral services were conducted May 7 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Rev. Sue Jarrett.  Burial was in Oaklawn Memorial Park.

Junius G. Miller, 82

Junius Glenn Miller, 82, of Franklin died Sunday, may 22, 2005, at Harrisonburg Health and Rehabilitation Center. 

Services will be conducted at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home in Clarksburg. 

Funeral arrangements were incomplete at press time.
