Penny Lea Malcomb, 32, of Brandywine, died Sunday, May 19, 2002, at her residence of an aneurysm.

She was born April 12, 1970, in Weston and was the daughter of Rose Helmick Marks and step-daughter of Harlen Marks of Hickory, NC, and daughter of Harold Jennings Campbell.

Mrs. Malcomb graduated from Buckhannon-Upshur High School and worked as a line worker at Pilgrim's Pride in Hinton, VA.

Surviving are her husband, Jeffrey Malcomb; two sons, Zachary Malcomb and Caleb Malcomb, both of Brandywine; two sisters, Sue Ann Scott and Cynthia Fisher; and two brothers, Calvin Campbell and Everett Campbell.

Rev. Travis Dowdy conducted an evening service Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin.

A second service will by held Friday at 11 a.m. at Tomblyn-Whitescarver Funeral Home in Buckhannon.

Burial will be at Mount Lebanon Cemetery in Buckhannon.

Roy Lee Warner, Sr, 52, of Circleville, died May 20, 2002, at the Shenandoah Memorial Hospital in Woodstock, VA.

Mr. Warner was born March 29, 1950, in Washington D.C. and was a son of Charles Warner, Sr. and Betty Lee Cornell.

He retired from the US Capitol Police in Washington, D.C., in 1985. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and a Methodist.

Surviving are two sons, Michael Warner, Edinburg, VA, and Roy Lee Warner, Jr., Waldorf, MD; one sister, Linda Dearstine, Laurel, MD; one grandchild, Cory Justice Warner; and two step-granddaughters.

Rev. Dr. Paul O'Gorek will conduct the funeral at 2 p.m. Friday at the Chapel of Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin. Burial will be in the North Fork Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Pendleton county rescue squads and Circleville Fire Department.

Blanch Spangler Keaton, age 104, died Saturday, May 18, 2002, in Springfield Center, where she had been a resident since 1994.

Born March 15, 1898, in Peterstown, she was a daughter of the late Mack T. and Laura Mandeville Spangler.

Mrs. Keaton was a school teacher. She began teaching at Gary at the age of 18 and taught first grade in Raleigh County for 30 years. She attended Concord College, Vanderbilt University and northwestern University.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Red" Keaton, in 1962; five sisters, Pauline Maclin, Kathryn Jarvis, Ina "Duck" Morrison, Phyllis "Sister" Clarke and Mary George Hammer; three brothers, Conrad "Short" Spangler, Phillip M. Spangler, Sr. and Lester "Boots" Spangler; one step-daughter, Patsy Eason and husband, Bill; and step-grandson, Mark Eason.

Survivors include step-granddaughter, Diane Smith and husband, Vincent, of Ohio; sister-in-law, Anna Mae Ballard Spangler of Lindside; brother-in-law, John W. Hammer of Franklin; six special nieces and eight nephews; and several great nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. May 21, at Peterstown Cemetery with her nephew, Mark Spangler, officiating.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home in Peterstown.

Hilda Marie Crigler Leichsenring, 77, of Amana, IO, passed away Sunday, January 20, 2002, at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids, IO.

Mrs. Leichsenring was born Friday, May 15, 1925, in Franklin and was the fifth daughter of the late Albert Boyd and Eva Lambert Crigler.

She received her education in the Franklin schools and graduated from Franklin High School Class of 1944. After graduation she was employed at Fairchild Aircraft in Hagerstown, MD.

On Nov. 17, 1945, she married Alfred Jack Leichsenring at Hagerstown, MD. After her husband's discharge from the U.S. Army in 1947, the couple returned to his home in Amana, IO.

She was employed at Amana Refrigeration and was a waitress at Ronneberg Restaurant in Amana , IO. She and her husband operated the South Amana Sandwich Shop.

Surviving are her husband; a son, Monte, and wife, Christine of Clarion; a daughter, Cody, and her husband, Robert of Marengo; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; a sister , Frances Glover of Franklin; and a brother, Alfred, also of Franklin.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Alma Hinkle, Thelma Ruddle and Irene Stickley.

Services were held Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002, at Middle Amana Community Church, Middle, IO.

Mrs. Leichsenring's home church was the Franklin Presbyterian, Franklin. The Holy Spirit is divine calling my baby sister into Heaven, the perfect place with the perfect Master, forever and perfect peace for the sister remaining on earth.
