Virginia Cutlip
Marcia
Virginia Cutlip, 63, of Franklin passed away on Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at the
Pendleton Manor in Franklin.
She
was born in Sutton on Dec. 14, 1946, the daughter of the late Carl Henry Lloyd
and Dorothy Jean McCord.
She
was a 1965 graduate of Burnsville High School, a member of Job Corp. and worked
as a CNA for Pendleton Nursing Home.
She
married Carl Lewis Cutlip, who preceded her in death on Nov. 19, 2003.
Surviving
are two daughters, Jeanettte Miller of Franklin and Janet K. Bennett of Tioga;
two sons, Carl “Bucky” Cutlip of Franklin and Bobby Joe Cutlip of
Cartersville, VA; four sisters, Patsy Hall and Betty Hall, both of Owasso, OK,
and Connie Keener and April Hudnall, both of Sutton; nine grandchildren; and
five great-grandchildren.
She
was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Roxanne Nicole Morrison.
Funeral
services were held Friday at the chapel of the Basagic Funeral Home, Franklin,
with Pastor Rob Borror officiating. Interment
was in Pinecrest Cemetery, Franklin.

Thelma
Crummett, 88
Thelma
Leona Pugh Crummett, 88, of Bridgewater, VA, passed away on Sunday, May 16,
2010, at the Bridgewater Home.
She
was born in Boyer on Nov. 14, 1921, and was a daughter of the late Rev. John
William and Milda (Gragg) Pugh.
Mrs.
Crummett worked as an activities director at Friendship Manor Nursing Home.
She was a member of the Bridgewater Church of the Brethren.
She
was united in marriage on July 25, 1942, to Rev. Wilmer Quentin Crummett,
formerly of Sugar Grove, who preceded her in death on Sept. 14, 2002.
Together she and her husband pastored several congregations in Virginia,
Maryland and West Virginia.
Surviving
are a daughter Anita Beckman and husband, Jim of Bridgewater, VA; two
granddaughters, Kara Beckman Smoker and husband, Sean, and Mendy Beckman Bowman
and husband, John; three great-grandchildren, Ben Smoker, Nate Smoker and Jay
Bowman.
She
was preceded in death by two sisters, Ethel Ervin and Bonnie Burner; and six
brothers, Merle, Virgil, Delmer, Allen, Fred and Clyde Pugh.
A
memorial service was conducted Wednesday at the Bridgewater Church of the
Brethren with Rev. Jeffery Carr officiating.
Burial was private.

Ray
Warner
Ray
Warner, 91, of Riverton passed away on Monday, May 17, 2010, at Grant Memorial
Hospital in Petersburg.
Mr.
Warner was born in Hunting Ground, the son of the late Charlie Noah and Mary
Elizabeth Wimer Warner.
He
attended Circleville High School, worked as a carpenter and a house builder, was
a member of the Spruce Mountain Ruritan Club, where he was noted as top ticket
salesman.
On
March 11, 1944, he married Nola Eda Warner, who survives in Riverton.
Also
surviving are two daughters, Nancy W. Swain and husband, Ralph of Mt. Airy, MD,
and Doris W. Koch of Frederick, MD; one son, Olin Ray Warner and wife, Nellie of
Maysville; one sister, Priscilla Mullenax and husband, Brooks of Cherry Grove;
three brothers, Charlie Warner and wife, Betty of Cherry Grove, Merle “Buck”
Warner and wife, Carolyn of Seneca Rocks, and Paul Warner and wife, Pauline of
Cleveland, OH; six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and six
great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral
services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Basagic Funeral
Home, Franklin, with Rev. Earl Bible officiating.
Interment will be in North Fork Memorial Cemetery, Riverton.
The
family will receive friends this evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral
home.
