Estyl W. Ruddle

Estyl W. Ruddle, 76, of Riverton died Friday April 29, 2005, at his home. 

Mr. Ruddle was born Oct. 2, 1928, in Riverton and was a son of the late Curtis Dove Ruddle and Lela Marie Huffman Ruddle. 

He was a poultry grower and the former owner of Ruddle Trucking company and Mount storm Fuel Corp.  He graduated from Circleville High School in 1948 and was West Virginia Poultry King in 1958.  

Mr. Ruddle served on the Penldeotn county Health Board fro six years.  He was a member and trustee of Riverton United Methodist Church. 

Survivors include his wife, Lucy Hott Ruddle, whom he married June 30, 1949; a son, John David Ruddle, Riverton; a brother, David James Ruddle; and two grandchildren, Zach Ruddle and Jennifer Ruddle.

he was also preceded indeath byt tow brothers, Curtis Ruddle and Harold Ruddle.  

Pastor Barbara Rexrode conducted the funeral Tuesday at the Riverton United Methodist Church. Burial was at North Fork Memorial Cemetery in Riverton by Basagic Funeral Home in Frnaklin. .

Memorial donations may be made to the Riverton United Methodist Church or the Circleville High School Preservation Fund.

Charles Hamilton, 73

Charles A. Hamilton, 73, of Bridgewater, VA, died Tuesday, April 26, 2005, at his residence.  

On Jan. 21, 1932, he was born in West Virginia and was a son of the late Ora Hamilton and Elizabeth (Black) Hamilton.

Mr. Hamilton was a carpenter and retired from RLC Ltd.  He attended the Bridgewater United Methodist church. 

He is survived by a companion, Betty Foley of Bridgewater, a foster daughter, Dawn Hott of Fort Seybert; one son, Timothy Hamilton of Franklin; one sister, Norma Suter of Harrisonburg, VA; adopted family, Tony E. Foley and Barry K. Foley; and adopted grandchildren, Sarah H. Foley and Aaron e. Foley. 

He was also preceded in death by a brother, William Frederick Hamilton, and a sister, Iris Ansel. 

A funeral service was conducted Friday at 11 a.m. in the Johnson Funeral Service chapel in Bridgewater, VA, with the Rev. Douglas D. Gestwick officiating.  Interment followed in Beaver Creek Cemetery.

Daisy C. Grogg, 95

Daisy Crossland Grogg, 95, of Elyria, OH, died April 26, 2005, at E.M.H. Regional Medical Center following a short illness. 

 She was born in Red Creek and has been a resident of Elyria, OH, since 1962.  

She was a teacher for Elyria City and South Amherst School Districts. 

Survivors include a daughter, Rita Raines of Grottoes, VA; a son, David L. Grogg of Lorain, OH; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. 

Her husband, George, a sister, Dorothy Crossland and a brother, Luke Crossland, preceded her in death. 

Private graveside services will be held in ARlington National Cemetery at a later date. 

Arrangements were under the direction of the Bauer-Laubenthal Funeral Home, Elyria, OH. 

Roy Waggy, 86

Roy Waggy, 86, husband of Dorothy (Hulvey) Waggy, of Staunton, VA, died at 12:04 p.m. Tuesday, Arpil 26, 2005, in the Augusta Medical Center, Fishersville, VA. 

He was born July 22, 1918, in Pendleton County a son of the late Kenny and Ida (Moyers) Waggy. 

Prior to retirement, Mr. Waggy was employed by American Safety Razor. 

He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church. 

In addition to his wife of 64 years, family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Jerald and Mary Waggy of Dayton, VA; a daughter, Jackie W. Ralston of Verona, VA; three sisters, Irene Eye of Waynesboro, VA, Cora Link of Staunton, VA, and Lera Newby of Porterville, CA; four grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by two brothers and a grandchild. 

A funeral service was conducted at Friday at Memorial Baptist Church by the Rev. Temple D. Myers.  Burial followed in Augusta Memorial Park by Henry Funeral Home, Staunton, VA.  

Elton C. Mongold, 81

Elton C. Mongold, 81, of Redding, CA, died Feb. 25, 2005, at Shasta Regional Medical Center, Redding, CA. 

Born April 8, 1923, in Peru, he was the son of the late James Arley and Cora Alice Sites Mongold. 

He was an U. S. Navy Veteran during World War II, a retired operating engineer and a member of Operating Engineers Local 3 of Redding and the American Legion. 

His wife, Carol Mongold, preceded him in death. 

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Kathelen Mongold of Redding, CA; four brothers, Calvin Mongold of Elkins, Victor Mongold of Harrisonburg, VA, David Mongold of Petersburg and Cecil Mongold of Brandywine; two sisters, Goldie Jackson of New Market, VA, and Mary "Pauline" Nelson of Lyons, MI; and three grandchildren.  

Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of choice. 

Arrangements were handled by Neptune Society of Northern California, Chico, CA.

Doris Thompson, 77

Doris Jeanne Thompson, 77, of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, died April 22, 2005. 

She was born in West Virginia.

A resident of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, for over 30 years, she had worked for Thompson Electric and was a member of the Cuyahoga Falls, OH, Eagles and Moose.

Her husband, Gene Thompson, formerly of Circleville died on Aug. 8, 2003. 

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, John and Sandra Hensley of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; four brothers, William D. Bowe and Ronald D. Bowe, both of West Virginia, Raymond A. Bowe of Wichita, KS, and David Paul Bowe of Green, OH; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
