Burner Lee Moats, 67

Burner Lee Moats, 67, of Rineyville, KY, died Thursday, April 22, 2004, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, KY.

Mr. Moats was a retired Army first sergeant with 28 years of service and a veteran of the Vietnam and Korean Wars.  He was a member of American Legion Post No. 113 in Elizabethtown, KY, the American Legion Post in Sugar Grove and the honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels.  He worked in civil service at Fort Knox, KY, for 17 years as a gardener. 

Survivors include his wife, Annemarie Moats, a son, Michael Moats of Elizabethtown, KY; a brother, Freddie Moats of Moyers; two sisters, Helen Moats of Moyers and Clona Moats of Franklin; and four grandchildren, Michael Moats, JR., Brandon Moats, Raymond Moats and Andrew Moats.  

He ws preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Moats; three sisters, Orphia Strother, Lisa Jean Moats and Hazel Cabbage. 

The funeral was 1 p.m. Monday at Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home in Radcliff, KY, with an Army chaplain officiating.  Burial was in North Hardin Memorial Gardens in Radcliff, KY, with full military honors.  

Patrick McGuinness, 38

Patrick J. McGuinness, 38, of Keyser died Sunday, April 25, 2004, at his home.  

Mr. McGuinness was born Dec. 2, 1965, in Petersburg and was the son of James McGuinness of Maysville and the late Bonnie Rohrbaugh McGuinness.

 He graduated from Petersburg High School in 1984.  He was a welder at CMC Enterprises in Mount Storm and was a member of Rees Chapel United Methodist Church. 

In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Sandy Jean Lambert McGuinness; three daughters, Sabrina Nicole McGuinness, Shannon Brooke McGuinness and Sahwnna hayley McGuinness, all of Keyser; a son, Shane Patrick McGuinness of Keyser; a sister, Christa Jo McGuinness of Maysville; and a brother Michael Mcguinness of Maysville.  

The Rev. Steven E. Lightner and Pastor Lynn E. Rohrbaugh conducted the funeral at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg.  Burial was in the North Fork Memorial Cemetery in Riverton

Barbara A. Wimer

Barbara A. Wimer, 60, of Franklin died Saturday, April 24, 2004, at her residence. 

She was born Jan. 29, 1944, at Fort Seybert and was the daughter of the late Roy Elmer May and Myrtle Dahmer May. 

She had worked at Pendleton county Bank for 32 years.  She was a member of Franklin Moose Lodge No. 812's Women of the Moose.  

On March 17, 1961, she married William A. "Bill" Wimer, who preceded her in death on May 18, 2000. 

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Richard a. and Linda Wimer of Core; one sister, Louise Gaffrey of Franklin; one brother, Steve May of Franklin; one grandson, Jalen Wimer of Core; a special friend, Carol Propst of Franklin; and number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby L. May. 

 Funeral services were held 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Kimble Funeral Home chapel in Franklin with Pastor intern Jay Linaburg and Pastor Dan Ludwick officiating.  Interment will be at the May Family Cemetery, Fort Seybert, at a later date.

Robert Marshall, 88

Robert Lee Marshall, 88, of Blue Grass, VA, died Sunday, April 25, 2005 at his home.  

Mr. Marshall was born May 11, 1915, at Blue Grass, VA and was a son of the late Joseph Mauzy and Frances (Stone) Marshall. 

He was a member of Blue Grass United Methodist Church.  He was a sawyer at Hooke Brothers Lumber Company. 

On July 18, 1941, he married Connie Waybright Marshall, who preceded him in death on January 23, 1989. 

He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert, Jr., and Louise Marshall, and Mike Marshall, all of Blue Grass, VA; two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Larry Wagoner of Staunton, VA, and Donna and Mike Clift of King George, VA; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Grace Harding and Margaret Marshall, both of Richmond, VA.

He was also preceded in death by a grandson, a sister, and three brothers. 

The Rev. Andre Crummett conducted the funeral at 2p.m. Wednesday at the Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell, VA.  Burial was in the Blue Grass Cemetery, Blue Grass, VA.

Jackiemarie D. Tetro, 58

Jackiemarie D. Tetro, 58, of Matinsburg died Thursday, April 22, 2004, at city Hospital, Martinsburg. 

Born August 31, 1945, in mOyers, she was the daughter of Mattie Jarboe Wimer of Martinsburg and the late Berlin G. Wimer. 

She was an L.P.N. employed with City Hospital and with the office Dr. Danine A. Rydland. 

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a graduate of James Rumsey Technical Institute School of Nursing and attended Shepherd College.  She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, the National League of Nurses and the Junior Women's Club.  Mrs. Tetro was Mrs. Claus to her husband who was Santa Claus for over 30 years to many families.

She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Hartley C. Tetro, Jr.; one daughter, Amy Elizabeth Tetro-Wenger and husband, Fred of Martinsburg; adopted children, Richard Viands, James Creamer and wife Lori, Brenda Sherwood and husband, Matt, Firdavs Umarov, Elaine Loizos-Hobday and husband, Donnie; two grandchildren Jonathan Sherwood and Casey Viands; one brother, Joseph Wimer and wife, Susie of Shepherdstown; one sister, Charlotte Sherman and husband, Roger of Martinsburg and many nieces and nephews.  

A memorial service was held Tuesday at the South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood with Pastor Michael Staubs officiating.  Interment was private.

Ellen E. Shank, 79

Mrs. Ellen Elizabeth Shank, 79, a resident of Harrisonburg, VA, died on April 25, 2004,at Oak Lea Nursing Home.  She had been ill for the last few years.

She was born March 23, 1925, in Mustoe, VA, and was a duaghter of the late Elmo and Ernestine Corbet Campbell.  

She graduated from Franklin High School and lived in the Harrisonburg, VA, area since 1958.  She was employed at Leggetts.  

On March 14, 1970, she married Harry A. Shank, who preceded her indeath on Sept. 23, 1983.  

She is survived by four children, William Joseph Sponaugle of Rehoboth Beach, DE, Ruth Sponaugle Skoglund of Lewes, DE, Linda Lou Sponaugle of Dover, DE, Brenda Simmons of Brandywine; four sisters, Dorothy C. Brown and Nancy Grogg, both of Franklin, Carol Propst of Harrisonburg, VA, Isabel Bowers of Richmond, VA, five grandchildren, Tonia Simmons Hedrick, John David Skoglund, Paul William Sponaugle, Trisha Anderson and Stephen Dennis Sponaugle; and three great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Dennis Campbell. 

Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Otterbein United Methodist church, Harrisonburg, VA, with the Rev. Glen Langston officiating. Burial followed at the Dayton Cemetery.
