Deborah Lambert

Deborah Lambert, 37, of Raleigh, NC, died on Saturday, April 12, 2008, at Rex Healthcare, following a courageous battle with stomach cancer. 

A native of Charleston, she was born on July 18, 1970, to Orin James and Mary Louise Ingerman Norris of North Augusta, SC, who survive.  

She was a 1992 graduate of Lenoir Rhyne College, where she met her husband, Brent, who survives.  The two were married on Nov. 1, 2000, at St. Philip Lutheran Church. Professionally, she was employed as a bookkeeper with Mosca Design. 

In addition to her parents and husband, she is survived by a son, Ian Lambert, at home, brothers, Eric Norris of Jacksonville, FL, and Alex Norris of Atlanta, GA. 

She is the daughter-in-law Jack and Sylvia Lambert of Rocky MOunt, NC. 

A memorial service was held April 18 at St. Philip Lutheran Church, Raleigh, NC, with Pastor David Amidon officiating.

Billy W. Eye, 84

Billy Woodrow "BW" Eye, 84, a resident of Elkins departed this life, Thursday, April 17, 2008, at his home.  He had been in failing health and death was attributed to heart disease. 

He was born Friday, July 13, 1923, at Oak Flat and was a son of the late Arthur Strite Eye and Maude Vivian Simmons Eye. 

Mr. Eye attended the schools of Pendleton County, served with the United States Army during World War II, having received the Purple Heart, and had retired from Allegheny Power Company with nearly 35 years of service.  He was a member of the Pendleton County Veterans of Foreign War Post #7666, the Military Order of the Purple Heart and the First United Methodist Church of Elkins.  He was an avid gardener, loved the outdoors, hunting, his grandchildren, and front porch sitting with neighbors and friends. 

On July 27, 1946, at Alexandria, VA, he was married to the former Ruth Lenora Simmons who survives.  They had celebrated sixty-one years of marriage. 

 Also surviving are one son, William Arthur Eye, and wife, Karen of Elkins; one brother, Rollie Eye of Rivesville; four grandsons, Jarod, Joshua, Dax and Antonio, five great-grandchildren, Darcy, Lauren, Austin, Landon, and Zoe; and many nieces and nephews. 

He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia Margaret Selario; five brothers, Curtis, Stanley, Harry, Jesse, and Raymond Eye; and two sisters, Myrtle Rexrode and Pauline Keller. 

Final rites were conducted at the Lohr and Barb Funeral Home, Elkins, on Sunday with the Reverend Doctor Ellis E. Conley officiating.  Interment followed at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens where members of the H.W. Daniel's Post #29, American Legion presented the American Flag.

Ben Bocchicchio, 79

Benedict "Ben" Bocchicchio, 79, of Monterey, VA, died April 21, 2008, at Bath Community Hospital, Hot Springs, VA.  

His wife, Mary Patricia Ernst Bocchicchio, died Sept. 12, 2006.  

Funeral services under the direction of Basagic Funeral Home, Franklin, were incomplete at press time. 

D. Joseph "Joe" Dohm

Dana Joseph "Joe" Dohm, 62, of Franklin died Friday, April 18, 2008, at his home. 

Mr. Dohm was born March 25, 1946, in Keyser and was a son of Carolyn Joy Gwynn Smith of Keyser and the late Harry E. Dohm. 

He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was a sheet metal mechanic and HVAC ductwork technician.  He was a Baptist.  He graduated from Bruce High School in 1964 and was a member of the Franklin Moose No. 769.

On April 8, 1966, in Westernport, MD, he married the formerly Vicki Lynn Strickler, who survives. 

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a daughter, Dana Lynn Dohm of Burke, VA; three sisters, Candy Bosley of Keyser, Kathy Tetrick of Westernport, MD, and Wendy Murphy of Ashburn, VA; and three brothers, Terry Dohm and wife, Melanie of Columbia, SC, Patrick Murphy of Quakertown, PA, and David Smith of Franklin.

He was also preceded in death by his brother, Harry Dohm, Jr. 

The Rev. Shyrl Smith and Pastor Terry Dohm conducted a funeral service Sunday at the Basagic Funeral Home, Franklin.  A graveside service was held at the Philos Cemetery in Westernport, MD, with a military service by Victory Post NO. 155 American Legion. 

Memorial donations may be made to the Pendleton County Emergency Rescue Squad.  

Wilma V. Zirk

Wilma Virginia Eye Shaver Zirk, 94, of Franklin and formerly of Milam, died Saturday, April 19, 2008, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, VA.  She had been a resident at Pendleton Manor since 2004. 

Mrs. Zirk was born Jan. 18, 1914, in Sugar Grove and was the daughter of the late William Arthur and Florence Hoover Eye. 

She attended high school at Shenandoah College in Dayton, VA, and graduated from Franklin High School in 1933.  She was employed at the Franklin Garment Company and was organist for Mount Carmel Church in Milam for many years.  She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. 

In August 1933, she married the Rev. Alfred J. Shaver, who preceded her in death, Jan. 5, 1969.  She wsa also preceded in death by her second husband, Herman E. Zirk. 

Surviving are four children, the Rev. Dr. Byrl Eugene A. Shaver and wife, Faye of Staunton, VA, Mary Florence Dettra and husband, John of McLean, VA, Bennie Nolan Shaver and wife JoAnn of Moorefield, and Martha Lynn Clarke and hu8sband, Presley of Fort Seybert; 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.  

She also was preceded in death by one brother, Stanley Earl Eye; stepfather, Cletus Evick; and three half-brothers, Max, Carey and Reid Evick. 

The Revs. Craig and Wendy Richter conducted the funeral Wednesday at Faith Lutheran Church in Franklin.  Burial was at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Franklin.
