Mary E. Harper
Mary Eloise Judy Harper, 86, a resident of Riverton, died Wednesday, April 12, 2006, at her residence.
She was born Dec. 1, 1919, at Circleville, a daughter of the late Truman “Buzz” Arbogast and Eva Simmons.
She was a homemaker and was a cook at the senior center. She was also employed at Franklin Garment Company, Hanover Shoe Company and Thompson’s Restaurant. She was a member of Cornerstone Apostolic Church in Winchester, VA.
On March 23, 1940, she was married to Roy Thurman Judy, who preceded her in death June 11, 1985. On April 27, 1988, she was married to J. Paul Harper, who survives.
She is also survived by one son, Gary Steven Judy and wife, Debbie, of Riverton; a sister, Nila Good of Timberville, VA; three brothers, James (Paul) Arbogast, Ralph Arbogast and William (David) Arbogast, all of Circleville; and two grandchildren, Jeremy Judy of Riverton and Rhiannon Sonner of Winchester, VA.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, James (Price) Arbogast; and one sister, Irma Propst Day.
The Rev. Richard Fosdick conducted the funeral Saturday at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin. Burial was at the Judy Cemetery in Riverton.

James Alvin Sites, 78 
James Alvin Sites, 78, of Clear Spring, MD, died Tuesday, April 11, 2006, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg.
Born April 18, 1927, near Cumberland, MD, he was the son of the late James Marvin Sites and Maudie Kisamore Sites.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army 28th Infantry serving in Germany and was a lifelong farmer and construction worker. He was a member of the Joseph C. Herbert American Legion Post 222 of Clear Spring, MD. He was an avid gardener, loved to oil paint, read medical books and enjoyed wood crafting and horse racing.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Weller Sites of Hancock, MD; one son, Perry M. Sites and fiancee, Kim Hull Blevins of clear spring, MD; seven daughters, Patricia A. Sites of clear Spring, MD, Diana F. Rowe of Williamsport, MD, Brenda M. Palmer and husband, Dale of Warfordsburg, PA, Marsha K. Alexander and husband, Kenny of Berkeley Springs, Rita M. Barnard and husband, Chris of Hancock, MD, Barbara J. McCarthy and husband, Rodney of Clear spring, MD, and Deborah L. Barkdoll and husband, Bill of Hedgesville; one sister, Evon Eula Hull of Tombstone, AZ, 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two aunts, Mabel Kisamore and Claire Merritt; and several cousins, including John and Jacob Kisamore and Harlin Kimble.
Services were held on Friday at the Donald Edwin Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., Clear spring MD, with Rev. Jeffrey Hawbaker officiating. Burial was in the Little Rose Hill Cemetery of Clear Spring with military honors by the Joseph C. Herbert American Legion Post 222.

Wilmer E. Botkin, 72
Wilmer Eugene Botkin, 72, of Sugar Grove died Tuesday, April 11, 2006, at his home.
He was born May 13, 1933, at Sugar Grove, a son of the late Arlie Clement and Sarah Lydia (Simmons) Botkin.
On Nov. 16, 1962, he married Darlene B. Botkin, who preceded him in death on Jan. 6, 1996.
Mr. Botkin retired from Pendleton county Bank and served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Crummett Run Church of the Brethren, Sugar Grove VFW Post 9666, Pendleton Masonic Lodge 144, Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 138 and a past member of the South Fork Rescue Squad and south Fork Volunteer Fire Dept.
He was also predeceased by a brother, William Harlan Botkin, and an infant sister.
A funeral service was conducted Friday at Crummett Run Church of the Brethren by the Rev. Jerry Smith. Burial was in Crummett Run Cemetery.

Charles Llewellyn, 59
Charles Edgar "Buck" Llewellyn, 59, of Upper Tract died Wednesday, April 12, 2006, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
Mr. Llewellyn was born May 9, 1946, in Lonaconing, MD, and was the son of the late George Llewellyn and Jenny Irene Nine Llewellyn.
He was a heavy equipment operator.
His wife, Peggy Ward Llewellyn, whom he married Sept. 23, 1989
Surviving are two daughters, Robin Shumate of Lonaconing, MD, and Lisa Llewellyn of Cresaptown, MD; a son, Robert Llewellyn of Frostburg, MD; a step-daughter, Connie Dyche of Upper Tract; a sister, Irene Shingler of Frostburg, MD; and nine grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements were by Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin.
Garland Walker, 76
Garland LeRoy Walker, 76, of Timberville, VA, died Monday, April 10, 2006, in Timberville, VA.
Mr. Walker was born March 6, 1930, in Mathias and was a son of the alte Ernest and Rhoda May fink Walker.
He was employed at Rockingham Poultry before retiring and was a member of ST. Luke's United Church of Christ in Timberville, VA.
His wife, Pauline Virginia Wilson Walker, preceded him in death May 9, 1995.
Survivors include four sons, Erwin S. and John W. Walker, both of Timberville, VA, David J. Walker of Harrisonburg, VA, and LeRoy R. Walker of Broadway, VA; two daughters, Virginia M. Walker of Timberville, VA, and Betty A. Pifer of Franklin; a brother, Web Walker of Timberville, VA; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Pastor Anil Daniel Solanki conducted a graveside service Friday at St. Luke's United Church of Christ Cemetery.

Sherwin L. Derby
Shewin Lyle Derby, 86, died peacefully on Thursday, April 13, 2006, at his home in Franklin.
Mr. Derby was born Dec, 18, 1919, in Petaluma, CA, and was the son of the late Bertha Miller and Sherwin R. Derby.
He studied at San Jose State College in Califronia and received a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Missouri at Kansas City, MO.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army before Pearl Harbor, became an officer and commanded U.S. forces on Espiritu Santo Island. He later served in the European Theatre until the end of World War II.
Mr. Derby worked for the Veterans Administration, Ross Martin Printing Company and Locke Stove Company and Autocrat Corporation as an engineer and designer of gas appliances.
He was blessed with musical talent, playing bassoon as a youth and drums in college band and sang in a barbershop chorus.
He was a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church.
The Derbys first came to Pendleton county in the 1970s and moved to Franklin in 1990. He enjoyed small-town life and was a clever inventor and putterer.
Mr. Derby is survived by his wife, Ann Derby, whom he was married for 64 years.
Also surviving are a brother; a sister; two sons, Mark Derby of Dallas, TX, and John Derby ; a daughter, Nan Goland of Franklin; two granddaughters; and three great-grandsons.
A memorial service was held by the family.

Freddie E. Kisamore
Freddie Emory Kisamore, 75, of Seneca Rocks and formerly of Charleston, died Monday, April 17, 2006, at Grant memorial Hospital in Petersburg.
Mr. Kisamore was born Aug. 13, 1o930, in Riverton and was a son of the late Emory Kisamore and Kertie Harper.
He graduated from Circleville High School and was a retired construction superintendent. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion, a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite, a member of the Benikedem Shrine Temple of Charleston, Salina Lodge No. 27, Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M. of Malden and the Teamsters local No. 984.
On Oct. 17, 1950, he married Ruby Maxine White, who survives.
He is also survived by two daughters, Rosemary Bearfield and husband, George of Charleston, and Deborah Harper and husband, Berlin of Seneca rocks; a sister, Frances Wimer and husband, Ambrose of cherry Grove; two brothers, Harman Kisamore of Seneca Rocks and Ival P. Kisamore of Charleston; four grandchildren, Frederick Allan and Thomas Lee Bearfield, Kenneth Dwayne Staten and Christina Lynn Tallent; and eight great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by one brother, Edwin Kisamore.
The Rev. Mark McAllister will conduct the funeral at 2 p.m today at North Fork Baptist church. Burial will be a t North Fork Memorial Cemetery in Riverton with Masonic graveside rites by Salina Lodge No. 27 and the Pendleton Lodge No. 144 A.F. & A.M. military graveside service will be conducted by the Pendleton County Veterans Honor Guard.

The family received friends at the North Fork Baptist Church on Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Edythe Sieberg, 84
Edythe M. Sieberg, 84, of Sidney, OH, died april 16, 2006, at her residence.
Born march 14, 1922, at Franklin, she was the daughter of the late Don and Grace Lough Lambert.
Mrs. Sieberg retired from Copeland Corporation after 21 years. She was a member of the Sidney American legion Auxiliary, Wilson Hospital Auxiliary, Senior Center of Sidney, OH, and a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church of Sidney, OH.
Surviving are one daughter, Debra Mertz, and husband, Norbert of sidney, OH; and three grandchildren, Kelly Schuler, Sandra Hicks and Bryan mertz.
She also was preceded in death by one brother, Jim Lambert.
Funeral services will be held today at 10 a.m. at the St. John's Lutheran Church, Sidney, OH, with Rev. Jonathan Schriber and Rev. Alicia Nierman officiating. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, Sidney, OH.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Amy Lou Weeber, 86
Amy Lou Armstrong Weeber, 86, of Mooresville, NC, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2006, at Presbyterian Hospital, Huntersville, NC.
Born Nov. 11, 1919, in Pendleton County, she was the daughter of the late Eli L. and Lucy Kate Warner Armstrong.
Mrs. Weeber was a retired branch manager for NCNB.
Her husband, Kenneth J. Weeber, preceded her in death.
Surviving are her children, Linda Morgan and husband, William of Mooresville, NC, and Jerry Armstrong of Concord, NC; a brother, Ronald Armstrong of Baltimore, MD; and a grandson, Michael E. Morgan of Mooresville, NC.
A graveside service was held Friday at Iredell Memorial Gardens, Statesville, NC, with Dr. Terry L. Moore and Rev Andrea Smith officiating.
Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville, NC, was in charge of funeral arrangements.
