William Zachariah Propst

William Zachariah Propst, 78, of Franklin passed away Friday, March 18, 2011, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, VA.

He was born March 23, 1932, at Franklin and was the son of the late Edward Terry Propst and Ada Catherine Bowers Propst.

He was a farmer and a member of Faith Lutheran Church. He never married.

Surviving are two sisters, Velma Smith of Monterey, VA and Arleta Mullins of Orange VA.

He was also preceded in death by one brother, John Clinton Propst, on Feb. 12, 2007, and one sister, Laurine Propst Bowman.

Funeral services were held Monday at the Kimble Funeral Home Chapel in Franklin with Pastor Calvin Bailey and Rev. Napoleon Mullins officiating. Burial was at the Dickenson Mountain Cemetery, Franklin.

Victor Tingler, 52

Victor Marshall “Vick” Tingler, 52, of Circleville passed away Thursday, March 17, 2011.

Born April 5, 1958 at Bartow, he was a son of Betty Louise Greathouse Tingler of Circleville and the late Marshall Tingler.

He was a skidder driver and logger for S. & S. Enterprises.

His wife, Neila Mae Arbaugh of Circleville, survives.

Also surviving are two step-daughters, Carrie Hoover and husband, David Hoover, Sr. of Circleville, and Ginnie Arbaugh of Bartow; four step-grandchildren; a sister, Sharon Carter and husband, Gary of Arbovale; four brothers, Guy Burley Tingler and wife, Connie of Bartow, Roger Tingler and wife, Gloria, Ricky Tingler and Timmy Tingler and wife, Malinda, all of Circleville; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Terry Michael Tingler; a sister, Cathy Huffman; and a sister-in-law, Polly Tingler.

Graveside services were held Monday at the Tingler Family Cemetery with Rev. David Rittenhouse and Rev. Julian Rittenhouse officiating.

Julian Ann Mallow Kiser

Julian Ann Mallow Kiser, 68, of Mt. Solon, VA, and formerly of Upper Tract, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2011, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, VA.

She was born in Kline on Dec. 31, 1942, the daughter of the late Lee Otha and Sara Rebecca Harman Mallow.

Mrs. Kiser graduated from Franklin High School in 1960 and graduated from Dunsmore Business College in Harrisonburg, VA. She was a member of Mt. Hope Lutheran Church in Upper Tract, where she was a Sunday School teacher, and Main Mountain Free Will Baptist Church at Greenwalt Gap, and she attended Emmanuel Church of the Brethren in Mt. Solon, VA.

She worked as a secretary in the dean’s office at Fairmont State College and was a former employee of Sponaugle and Sponaugle Law Office in Franklin. She retired as a medical records director from Pendleton County Nursing Home.

On Dec. 27, 1961, she married Gene Brown Kiser, who preceded her in death on Jan. 4, 2003.

Surviving are a son, Terry Kiser and wife, Kathy of Mt. Solon, VA; two brothers, Richard Mallow and wife, Nancy of Franklin, and Roger Mallow and wife, Lenora “Skip” of Upper Tract; two grandchildren, Whitney and Nicholas Kiser; a step-grandchild, Michelle Etchebarne and husband, Nestor of Harrisonburg, VA; and three step-great-grandchildren, Natalia, Nestor and Adrian.

Funeral services will be held today at 3 p.m. at the Mt. Hope Lutheran Church, Upper Tract, with Rev. Eugene Shaver and Pastors Craig and Wendy Richter officiating. Interment will be in Kline Cemetery, Kline.
