Tina Snodgrass, 86, of Beckley died Thursday, March 1, 2001, in a local hospital following a lingering illness.

Mrs. Snodgrass was born at Riverton and was a duaghter of the late Elmer and Maggie Hedrick Lambert.

She lived most of her life as a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Beckley where she taught kindergarten Sunday School class for 42 years. She was a member of the Lydia Light Circle. Fellowship Sunday School class and a BYF leader. She played piano for the Baracca Sunday School class. She was a deaconess, hostess and organist for prison ministry.

Surviving are three daughters, Eleanor Ryva of Philadelphia, PA, Eileen Sumner and her husband, Mike of Daniels, and Marty Beth Okes and her Husband, Jim of Soddy Daisy, TN; one brother, Lynn Lambert and his wife, Dessie of Ohio; a sister, Evelyn VanDevander of Riverton; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted at 1 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church, Beckley with Dr. David Carrico and Pastor Mark Schrade officiating. Burial followed in Sunset Memorial Park.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Calfee Funeral Home, Beckley.

Ruth Mae Heavner Reed, 74, Lahmansville, died Sunday, March 18, 2001, at Grant County Nursing Home in Petersburg, where she had lived for 11 years.

Mrs. Reed was born Aug. 29, 1926, in Lahmansville and was a daughter of the late Arnold and Sylvia Turner Heavner.

She was a member of the Falls Assembly of God Church and the Petersburg Church of God.

Her husband, Edgar Parker Reed, died Dec. 4, 1979.

She is survived by a son, Paul J. Reed, Burlington; a step-son, Robert Reed, Cabins; five daughters, Josephine Rohrbaugh, Maysville, Mary L. Powell, Frederick, MD, Margie Saville, Kirby, June D. Huffman, Seneca Rocks and Linda K. Ours, Cabins, two sisters, Retta Dolly, Lahmansville, and Joy Keplinger, Arthur; 12 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and eigh great-grandchildren.

The Revs. Steve Landis and Vivan Watts conducted the funeral at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg. Burial was at the Lahmansville Cemetery, Lahmansville.

Ronald Lester Borror, 78, Petersburg, died Tuesday, march 13, 2001, at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg. He had lived at the Pendleton Nursing Home in Franklin for the past year and a half.

Mr. Borror was born Aug. 20, 1922, in Landes and was a son of the late James H. and Ada Belle Judy Borror.

He was employed by the West Virginia Department of Highways and worked in several orchards. He was a member of the Petersburg First Baptist Church.

His wife, Margie A. Nesselrodt Borror, died Oct. 24, 1990.

Surviving are five daughters, Mary Jane Borror, Moorefield, Dessie Westfall, Maysville, Edna Mae Borror, Washington, DC, Shirley Anderson, Franklin and Barbara Wimer, Petersburg, Two brothers Richard Borror and Calvin Borror, both of Upper Tract; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mila Sue Borror, two sons, infant, Lester Earl Borror and Ronald L. Borror, Jr., two sisters, Dora Borror Cosner and Edna Borror Clayton.

The Revs. Charles Lomasney and Don Flanigan conducted the funeral 11 a.m. Thursday at Faith Assembly of God Church in Petersburg. Burial was at the Nesselrodt Cemetery, Landes.

Evelyn Kesner Cornell, 0, of Pocomoke City, MD, died Thursday, March 15,2 001 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury MD.

Mrs. Cornell was born July 31, 1930 in Mozer and was a daughter of the late John William and Mary Smith Kesner.

Her devoted of 47 years, Wayne R. Cornell, preceded her in death October 24, 1999.

She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Pocomoke City, MD, and she was also very active in the Pocomoke Elks Lodge BPOE #1624 Auxiliary, when her health allowed it. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by three children and their spouses, Debra and John Scott of Pocomoke City, MD, David and Maura Cornell of Ellicott City, MD, and Dena and John Daniels of Columbia, MD; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Blanche Harman of Upper Tract and Arletta Sears of Petersburg; a brother, Roy E. " Jake" Kesner of Hopwood, PA; and several nieces and nephews.

A brother, Stanley Kesner, preceded her in death.

A funeral service was held March 18 at 2 p.m. at the Holloway Melson Funeral Home in Pocomoke City, Md, with the Rev. Russell Lehman officiating. Interment followed in the First Baptist Cemetery on Old Snow Hill Road in Pocomoke City, MD.

Earl Aston Groves, 83 of Petersburg, died Tuesday, march 13, 2001, at his home.

Mr. Groves was born May 27, 1917, in Maysville and was the son of the late Roy and Gracie May (Judy) Groves.

He was a lifelong farmer and participated in local, state and national livestock activities. He served as president and vice-president of the WV Angus Association. He had been anamed the "Outstanding Purebred Beef Produced" and in 1981 was honored as one of the WV Outstanding Farm Families. He supported 4-H, Future Farmers of America and Junior Angus Activites.

He was preceded in death by his wife Neva E. (Ours) Grove on may 25, 2000.

Surviving are three daughters, Betty L. Groves, Helen L. Hedrick, and Ellen I. Kirby, all of Petersburg, two grandsons, Roy A. Hedrick and Edward E. Kirby; three great-grandchildren, Ryan Ashford Hedrick, marc Bauer Hedrick and Taylor Nicholas Kirby; one sister, Kathleen Kile of Cabins; and a number of nieces and nephews who thought of his as "Pap," including Conway C. Ours, Jr., who lived with the Groves Family.

Also preceding him in death were two sisters, Twila Groves Shade and Mernie Grove Kile.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Grove Street United Methodist Church with Pastor Rebecca L. Bennett, Rev. Stanley Kile and Rev. Richard L. Longbon. Interment followed in the Lahmansville Cemtery, Lahmansville.

Memorials may be made to the Tri-County Fair Association or the West Virginia Junior Angus Association or charity of choice.

Ebert Samuel Berg, 78, Maysville, died Tuesday, march 13, 2001, at his home.

Mr. Berg was born June 21, 1922, in Jordan Run and was a son of the late Walter Samuel and Laura Barger Berg.

He was a farmer and carpenter and a member of the Bethel Pentecostal Church in Petersburg.

Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Irene G. Alt Berg; five sons, Jack Berg and Delmer R. Berg, both of Petersburg, and the Rev. Lyle W. Berg, Sr., Rusty Berg and Danny Berg, all of Maysville; two sisters, Velma Goldizen and Hazel Heavner, both of Maysville; two brothers, Austin Berg, Maysville, and Foster Berg, Grant County Nursing Home, Petersburg; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Raymond Ebert and Roger Lee Bert; one daughter, Thera Mae "Sudie" Berg; two grandsons, Roger Lee Berg, Jur., and Roger Wayne Berg; three sisters, infant Berg, Ollie Rohrbaugh and Marie Berg Kay and one brother, Paul Berg.

The Revs. Paul Markee and Wendell Everett conducted the funeral at 11 a.m. Saturday at Cabins Assembly of God Church in Cabins because of renovations at his home church. Burial was at the Berg family cemetery in Jordan Run.

David Lee Holloway, 48, Upper Tract, died Thursday,March 15, 2001, at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg.

Mr. Holloway was born June 27, 1952, in Harrisonburg, VA, and was a son of Susie Bowers Holloway of Upper Tract and the late James M. Holloway.

He was employed at the Hanover Shoe Company and was a member of Upper Tract United Methodist Church.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by a sister, Kimberly Sue Keplinger, Upper Tract; two brothers, James W. Holloway and Rickie L. Holloway, both of Upper Tract; a cousin, Betty Simmons of Franklin; and a nubmner of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Cherry Hill Cemetery at Upper Tract with Rev. Edgar Null and Rev. Gary Phillips officiating.

Memorials may be made to Mrs. Susie Holloway, Upper Tract, WV.
